This lesson is Unit 5 Humans and Nature: A Sea Story. The main content of this lesson is to read the thrilling story betweenpeople and the sea. By the end of the lesson, students will have a better understandof the relationship between human and the nature.

By the end of the class, students are able to:

1.know how to use some linking expressions related time to tell a story;

2.read general understanding and specific information;

3.have a better understanding of the relationship between humans and nature;

4.talk about a sea story.

1.Read and talk about ASea Story.

2.Express the relationship between humans and nature in English.

Teaching  procedures：

Step 1Lead-in

Show Ss a video of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Step 2 Pre-reading

1.Recall some key words.

2. Show three pictures about whirlpool and ask Ss to predict what the story is about.

Step 3 While-reading

1. Check prediction.
2.     Find linking words related time.

3.Complete the information in the boxes.

Step 4 Post-reading

1.Critical Thinking.

(1) Why did the storyteller survive while his elder  brother didn’t?

(2) What is the story trying to say about the relationship between humans and nature?

2.Retell the story with the help of the following key words.

Homework:
