Teaching procedures
Step 1 : warm up and lead in
1.Greetings
2. Review and lead in
1)Review the verb phrases and the sentence pattern that we have learned before.
2)look at some pictures and guess my hobbies.
3)explain hobby and hobbies.
Step 2. presentation
1.Let’s learn
1)Learn “dancing”
a. Look at the picture of “a dancing girl”and listen to find out if the word is right with the sound. T shows the correct spelling of the word---we should delete “e”and add “ing”.
b. T shows the ss the sentence “I like dancing.”
c. T asks “What are your hobbies?” and then lead ss to answer with “I like dancing.”
2)Use the same way to learn the new words and the new phrases “singing”, “reading stories”, “playing football” and “doing kung fu”.
2.Drill
1)Play a game to practice the new words and phrases.Say them loudly and quickly.
2) Play the game of “lucky wheel” with partners to practice how to ask and answer.
Step 3. Practice
1)Show lots of pictures and direct ss to use the sentence pattern to make new sentences. “I like... . I also like... .”
2)Let the ss practice saying the sentences over and over again.
3)Lead the ss to say the sentences of the beginning and the ending as well as the title.
4)Ss keep saying the mini composition orally.
5)Ss write down the composition that they made.
Step 4.Homework
Group A:
1.Copy the new words and phrases.
2.Make up the new dialogue with the sentence pattern
3.Writing “My hobbies”.
Group B:
1.Copy the new words and phrases.
2.Make up the new dialogue with the sentence pattern
3.try to writing “My xxx’s hobbies”.
