Isaac Newton, one of the greatest- scientists and mathematicians who have ever lived, was born in Lincolnshire, England in 1643, where he grew up on a farm. When he was a boy, he made lots of great inventions like a windmill, a water clock and a sundial (日晷).

When he was 18, Isaac went to study at Cambridge University. He was very interested in physics and math. But in 1665 the Great Plague, a terrible illness, happened in England, and Cambridge University had to close down. Isaac returned home to the farm.

 Isaac went on studying at home. One day he was drinking a cup of tea in the garden. He saw an apple fall from a tree. “Why do apples fall down instead of up?” he thought. From this, he formed (形成)the theory of gravity (万有引力理论).

Sally loved cars more than anything else. This spring she thought of building a go-kart to take part in the Go-Go Race. So she asked her dad for help.
