学情分析:
本单元的主题是“谈论人们正在做的事情”,主要是学习用现在进行时表达正在进行的日常活动、询问他人正在做某事的表达方式。在表达“能力”、“时间”时,要使用以前所学过的 “He can…”、“What time is it?” 等句型。教师可引导学生观察,比较,总结的方法掌握所学现在进行时疑问句的结构和使用以及回答。
重点难点

1) New wrds: newspaper, use, sup, wash, mvie,
2) New phrases: read a newspaper, g t the mvies, eat ut, talk n the phne, listen t a CD, use the cmputer, make sup, wash the dishes
3) Sentence structures
What are yu ding? — I'm watching TV.
What is she ding? — She is talking n the phne.
2. 难点:
1)现在进行时中现在分词的结构,能在交际中准确地运用现在进行时来描述或表达正在进行的动作。
2)运用现在进行时的正确结构进行写作,描述正在进行的动作。
四. 教学过程设计
The First Perid(第一学时)
Step 1 Lead in
Aim: T familiarize Ss with the present prgressive tense
The teacher shws several micr-blg chats with vides attached n the PwerPint
T: Tny is unhappy because his dg is missing. Luckily, tw strangers find his dg and send him sme messages.
T: After yu watch the vides, can yu help Tny find his dg?
S1: I think it’s the secnd ne.
T: Why?
S1: Because he can walk n tw legs.
T: Yes, the first dg is playing with a ty and the secnd dg is walking n tw legs.
Step 2 Presentatin
Aim: T present the present prgressive tense.
The teacher presents sme dynamic pictures in his Wechat and asks questins.
T: What des she d every day?
S1: She talks n the phne every day.
T: Lk at the time. What time is it nw?
S1: It’s a quarter t five.
T: Yes, and she is talking n the phne.
The teacher shws mre pictures and mainly asks questins with these structures: What is he/she ding? What are they ding?
Step 3 Game: Yu act, I guess
Aim: T use the game t cnslidate students’ understanding f the new wrds and help them memrize them.
The teacher gives an example: shw ne phrase with present prgressive tense n the screen. The teacher faces the students and students d the act and the teacher guesses the phrase.
Ask several pairs f students t cmpete. (Tw Ss guess the acts while ther students ding the acts, and the teacher asks Ss t pay attentin t the frms f Ving.)
Add sme pints fr the winning grup.
Step 4 Match-up
Aim: T check Ss’ understanding f the wrds and phrases
1. Ask students t match them up
2. Check the answers by asking students “What is he/she ding?” r “What are they ding?”
Step 5 Listening
Aim: T enhance Ss’ listening skills
1. What are the peple ding?
2. Write numbers frm 1a belw.
3. Check the answers in pairs like this:
A: What is Jenny ding? B: She is watching TV.
A: What is Jhn ding? B: He is ding his hmewrk.
A: What are Dave and Mary ding? B: They are eating dinner.
Step 7 Pair wrk
Aim: T enhance Ss’ ral English
1. Shw students an example by asking a student t d the pair wrk with the teacher while lking at the dynamic pictures n the screen.
2. Ask Ss t practice the dialgue similarly.
Step 8 Exercises
Lead students t cnclude the structures f present prgressive tense.
Finish the exercises t cnslidate students’ understanding.
Step 8 Grup wrk
Aim:T enhance teamwrk amng students
Backgrund: The schl jurnalists are making a prgram named Happy Schl Mments. Nw they are interviewing sme students during the break (课间).
任务:4人一组,分配一名记者,采访其他三人,其他人各自做自己的事情。采访完后由记者做口头报告。
Step 8 Writing
Aim: t enhance Ss’ writing skills.

Write an essay abut the sprts meeting by lking at the teacher’s Wechat mments.
