①Ask the students to look at the pictures and choose birthday presents.

②Teacher checks the answers.

③Organize the students to read the new words together.

Task 2 Reading

①Play the tape and ask students to scan the passage.

②Ask students to skim the passage and match the people with what they like doing.

③Guide the students to listen to the tape again.

④Ask students to complete the passage with the correct form of the words from the box.

⑤Organize the students to read the passage with the recording.

⑥Organize the students to check the answers in the whole class.
