I’m writing to express my thanks to you. Thank you for loving and encouraging me when my anxiety controlled me. Several times in the past, I didn’t do well in some examinations. Addie and Lainey, two middle school students were awarded for their rubbish collecting project which aimed to keep the ocean as clean as possible. One day, on the way home, they saw rubbish everywhere on the beach. If the rubbish goes into the ocean, it can damage sea life. They had learned this in science class. They realized at once they had to do something. In their project, they used an app. This app helps users track the rubbish they find at beaches and provides data that helps experts solve the local problems. They intended to collect 5,000 pieces of rubbish. When the project concluded, 8,000 pieces were collected, 3,000 over their initial goal. Their project became famous. Peake, an Education Officer, arranged for Lainey and Addie for a meeting with an ocean expert where they shared the app for further scientific use. The influence of their project is far reaching. More and more people have followed Addie and Lainey to pick up the rubbish in their community.
