My bss recently asked me, "D yu knw why I hired yu? Because yu didn't sell yurself. Yu didn't tell me, 'Lk hw experienced I am.' Yu emailed me and said, 'I researched yur website and saw hw many amazing vets (兽医) yu have and I want t learn frm them,' and that's why I hired yu. Yu shwed vulnerability."
S what is vulnerability? Fr me, vulnerability means putting yur fear f embarrassment aside and allwing persnal grwth. I believe vulnerability is a pathway t success. Vulnerability has traditinally been viewed as a weakness in the wrkplace. The very thught f expsing yur weaknesses is terrifying. Hwever, we can change the views surrunding it. I'm talking abut the vulnerability that strengthens curage and leads t mre success as a vet.
After graduatin, I started wrking in a clinic where I thught I wuld have supprt. Hwever, I didn't have the help I required. I quickly became exhausted. Within 18 mnths, I didn't want t be a vet anymre.
During this perid, I realized withut the supprt I wanted I was ptentially making mistakes I wasn't even aware f. Was I treating patients effectively? I wuldn't knw, because I had n ne t ask fr help.
I decided t be vulnerable. I accepted that I was unhappy, living with pr mental health and lacking imprtant knwledge. I wanted t find smewhere I'd be able t cntinue building my knwledge, nt as an average vet, but as a gd ne. After tw and a half years wrking as a vet, I have finally fund a place where I get the supprt I need. My pint is: dn't stay where yu are unhappy. Be vulnerable and have the curage t accept when yu are unhappy. Find smewhere that will supprt yu and push yu t d better.
Vulnerability shuldn't be cnsidered a weakness because it allws persnal grwth. Vulnerability shuld be viewed as a strength. T be vulnerable allws yu t shw peple that yu cannt always be perfect. Being vulnerable is nt a liability (麻烦的事) in the wrkplace. It is the ability t shw peple that yu are human.

C. Hw the authr gt rid f her vulnerability.
D. Why the authr decided t shw her vulnerability.
7. What can we cnclude abut vulnerability frm the last paragraph?

Early ne mrning in February, a team f specialists pulled up next t a building in Nttingham. They wrked quickly but carefully, remving a small sectin f the wall n which "Hula-hp Girl" had been painted by Banksy, an utstanding street artist. Jhn Brandler, a cllectr, said that he had purchased the artwrk frm the building's landlrd. Lcal residents were hrrified, as the mural (壁画) had spread cheer during the lckdwns in Britain.
It was nt the first time Banksy's artwrk had been carried ff. S many f Banksy's pieces, in particular, have been taken and sld int private cllectins that they have been brught tgether t frm an exhibitin. "The Art f Banksy", the wrld's largest display f his wrk, pened in Lndn in May as a paid-fr, ticketed exhibitin. The shw invites art lvers t take cash ut t view privately held wrks intended t be publicly accessible and free. Banksy has criticised the practice, saying that he will nt authenticate artwrks remved frm their riginal site.
Street art is an unusually risky art frm. Painters rarely seek permissin t turn a building int a canvas, and s while the artwrk belngs t them, the backdrp des nt. If they want t prtect their pieces frm unwanted buyers, artists shuld ask fr permissin frm the building wner and sign a cntract. Anther different prblem is psed by many street artists' decisin t remain annymus. Artists shield themselves frm accusatins f deliberately damaging public prperty by using secret identities, but ptentially lse ut n the chance t prtect their wrks frm theft.
But the legal prtectins are imprving as mre peple cme t appreciate street art's value. Ina case last year, a judge fund that famus graffiti (涂鸦) in New Yrk was prtected frm remval because it had "significant artistic value and cultural imprtance". Cpyright lawsuits are als increasingly cmmn.

Allergies(过敏)cause lads f truble. Sme peple suffer frm seasnal hay fever as pllen(花粉)flws thrugh the air. Others react t materials at their very tuch. And sme srry suls g int shck at the mere presence f certain fds, particularly peanuts and shellfish.
The cause in each case is an versensitive immune system. This creates annying and smetimes life-threatening symptms. Over-reactive immune systems may nt, thugh, be an entirely bad thing. Anther rle played by the immune system is t destry malignant tumrs(恶性肿瘤)befre they take hld—wrk carried ut recently by Annette Wigertz f the Karlinska Institute, in Stckhlm, and her clleague suggests that the immune systems f thse with allergies may be particularly gd at this.
This finding came after Dctr Wigertz and her team interviewed 1, 527 peple with glimas(a type f brain tumr)in Denmark, Finland, Nrway, Sweden and the sutheast f England. The researchers asked the patients in questin whether they had a histry f allergies, and then cmpared the results with thse fr 3, 309 therwise similar individuals wh did nt have brain tumrs. As Dctr Wigertz reprts in the American Jurnal f Epidemilgy, the tumr-free were mre likely t suffer frm allergies. The presence f an allergy was assciated with a 30% reductin in the likelihd f having a glima.
This was nt all that surprising. Previus research had detected similar crrelatins, suggesting that a welcme side effect f allergy was resistance t cancer. But this new study went further. It lked carefully at the time in the patients' lives when their allergies were active, and it fund that this timing was crucial. Dctr Wigertz nted that the absence f allergy was crrelated with the time when the glima first frmed.
Awkwardly, this result is pen t tw rather different interpretatins. The ptimistic explanatin is that the hyperactive immune system assciated with allergy des prtect against tumrs. The ther interpretatin is that tumrs are ding smething as they grw that stps the immune system and thus allergic reactins. Either way, tumr and lack f allergy cincide. And either way, smething interesting is ging n.
12. What accunts fr mst allergies?
A. Pllen in-the air.
B. Presence f sme fd.
C. Sensitivity f the immune system.
D. Overreacting t the wrld.
13. Hw is this finding different frm thse frm the previus research?
A. It indicates a benefit f allergy.
B. It uncvers the cause f allergies.
C. It prves the crrelatins between allergy and cancers.
D. It discvers the cancer started when there was n allergy.
14. What's the last paragraph abut?
A. What explains the finding f the research.
B. Why the research n allergy is f significance.
C. Whether cancer is related t the absence f allergy.
D. Hw allergy prtects peple against cancers.
15. What can we learn frm the research findings?
A. Bad news has wings.
