一般过去时

一、一般过去通常用于叙述过去发生的事情。

二、若主语是第一人称单数或第三人称单数时, 谓语动词用was; 主语是第二人称或其他人称的复数时, 谓语动词用were。

三、句子结构:

1.肯定句: 主语 + was/were +...

e.g. They were at home last night.

昨晚他们在家。

2.否定句: 主语 + was not (wasn’t) / were not (weren’t) + ...

Tom and Li Ming were not in the classroom just now. 　汤姆和李明刚才不在教室。

3.一般疑问句及答语:

Was/ Were +主语+...?

Yes,主语(代词)+was/ were.

No,主语(代词)+wasn’t/ weren’t.

—Were you on the farm yesterday?

昨天你在农场吗?

—Yes, I was. 是的, 我在农场。

—No, I wasn’t. 不, 我不在。

四、常用时间状语:last +名词 (year, month), yesterday, the day before yesterday, in +过去时间 (1980), ... ago (ten years ago)等。

Tom went to Beijing last month.

汤姆上个月去了北京。

五、be动词的过去式

1.I am a teacher now.

→I was a student ten years ago.

2.She is a doctor now.

→She was a teacher last year.

3.You are a farmer.

→You were a worker.
