阅读下列句子,注意trap的意思及用法。

[归纳] trap可以作 动词,意为:使陷入困境(句1)。可以构成短语trap sb. int (ding) sth.,表示“使中计;使陷入圈套”(句2)。也可以作名词,意为:陷阱(句3);困境(句4)。

shck有两种分词转化成的形容词形式:shcking令人震惊的(用来修饰物);shcked震惊的(用来修饰人)。
有类似用法的词有很多,如:interest, frighten, excite, puzzle, satisfy等。
辨析shck, astnish, surprise
hck vt./n: t cause usually unpleasant r angry surprise t (sb.): 震惊,打击,吃惊程度最大,后面常跟介词at/by构成词组be shcked at/by,表示“对……吃惊”,或接不定式表示原因,也可作名词,意为“震动,打击”:
eg.He was shcked by what yu said.
The news gave me a great shck.
astnish vt./n: surprise greatly. 语气比surprise要强,含有令人难以置信: eg.I was astnished t see him in Tibet.
The news astnished everyne.
surprise vt./n: (feeling caused by) sth. sudden r unexpected: 最普通用词,意为“使惊讶,使吃惊”,含有“意想不到”之意。
eg. I was surprised t see the great changes in my hmetwn.
His failure didn’t cause much surprise (was nt a great surprise.)
3. cngratulatin n
1)(with n)an expressin f jy fr sb.’ success, gd frtune, luck, etc. : 庆贺,祝贺,常用复述形式,并与介词n搭配,构成短语cngratulatins n sth. /ding ….
2)Cngratulatins ( n yur winning the races)!恭喜(你获得了胜利)!I ffered my cngratulatins n his success.
3)cngratulate v. (with n.) t speak t ( a persn) with praise and admiratin fr a happy event r sth. successfully dne: 意为“向某人表示祝贺,向某人道贺”,构成短语cngratulate sb. n sth. /dng…. cngratulate neself that结构中:
We cngratulated him n having passed the examinatin.
长难句分析

这是一个复合句。主句是The sund f planes culd be heard utside the city f Tangshan,utside the city f Tangshan在主句中作地点状语,when引导时间状语从句。

这是一个复合句。句子的主干是But the ne millin peple were asleep as usual that night. wh引导非限制性定语从句,修饰peple。

句子的主干是The army rganized teams, t dig ut ... and t bury ... 这两个不定式短语作目的状语,wh were trapped是定语从句,修饰thse。

bury neself in = be buried in
devte neself t = be devted t

a. 这是一个由and连接的并列复合句。
b. 本句的结构是:第一个分句(Thusands f families were killed) + and + 第二个分句(many children were left withut parents)。
c. 第二个分句的结构为:主语(many children) + 谓语(were left) + 主语补足语(withut parents)。
d. 可以充当补足语的还有形容词、分词、不定式、名词或句子等。
