    The reading passage titled Anne’s Best Friend with tw pictures n page 3 intrduces students “wh” Anne’s best friend was and her life during Wrld War = 2 \* ROMAN \* MERGEFORMAT II. Its structure is gd fr students t practice the ways f reading. T cnslidate the cntents f the reading passage, students shuld be required t retell the text in their wn wrds at the end f the class.
    Aims:
    1. Imprve Ss. Reading ability.
    2. Help Ss t understand Anne Frank’s inner mtins.
    Difficult pint:
    Guide Ss. t master different reading skills such as predicting, skimming, scanning and intensive reading.
    Imprtance:
    Encurage Ss. t dig in Anne Frank’s persnalities and changing feelings as well as thughts.
    Teaching prcedures:
    Step1 Lead-in:
    Shw pictures f well-knwn friends like 伯牙子期,李白汪伦,筷子兄弟,SHE and give Ss. a simple intrductin.
    Brian strming:
    1) What qualities shuld a gd friend have?
    2) Why d we need a friend?
    T: A gd friend maybe hnest, brave, generus, patient, selfless, cnsiderate, kindhearted, pen-minded and diligent. We need a friend because we feel lnely. Tday we are ging t make friends with Anne Frank,a pr Jewish girl, t have a gd lk at her slitary heart, will yu?
    Step2 Predicting:
    1)Lk at the title f the text and the pictures n Page 2 and 3 .
    2)Guess wh thse peple are and what the text might be abut.
    Step3 Skimming: (read the passage quickly t get an ver-all impressin)

    2) What’s the main idea f each part?
    Step4 Scanning: (g ver the passage and get specific infrmatin)

    Step5 Intensive reading:
    Read the passage carefully and finish the table belw in pairs
    Read it again and discuss in grups f fur:

    Hw wuld yu describe Anne’s feelings as she was lking ut at the night sky?
