Step 1:Warming up
Teacher tells a story about Noah and then ask the students:Do you know the story of Noah?
Ss:Yes(No).
T:What are the symbols of peace?
Ss:The olive branch.
T:Yes,you are right,but not only the olive branch is a symbol of peace,the dove is also the symbol of peace.
设计意图:以故事开始新课,吸引学生的注意力,激发学生的学习兴趣。
Step 2:Presentation
1.播放课件,展示“白鸽”、“橄榄枝”等的图片,让学生举手回答问题。
(1)这些分别是什么?(2)他们有什么意义?
设计意图:通过图片自然的导入本课教学内容。
2.Finish the Exercise 1 on Page 103.
设计意图:要求学生先自主阅读课文,大概弄懂课文意思。
3.Explain the language points of this lesson.
(1)There are too many bad people in the world.世界上坏人太多了。
too many“太多”,后接可数名词的复数,表示数量。
too much“太多”,也表示数量,后接不可数名词。
much too“太”,后接形容词或副词,much用在too前用来加强语气。
(2)When the flood came,they floated for many days and nights.
当洪水来了,他们在洪水中漂浮了许多天。
基数词用hundred,thousand,million,billion表示确切的数目时,不能加s。如:six thousand;但在表示不确切的数目时,要用复数形式+of结构,意为“数以……记的,成……的”。
(3)In the evening the dove comes back with a green olive branch in its mouth.This meant that land was near and that danger had passed.晚上鸽子回来了,嘴里叼着一枝绿色的橄榄枝,表明陆地就在附近,危险过去了。
with a long olive branch in its mouth介词短语作伴随状语。
I’d like Chinese tea with nothing in it.我喜欢里面什么也不加的中国清茶。
The mooncakes with nuts in them are very delicious.里面有坚果的月饼很好吃。
(4)Since then,people have always taken the dove and the olive branch as symbols of peace.从那时起,人们认为鸽子和橄榄枝就是和平的象征。
since 自……以来
She has been collecting stamps since 1990.她自1990年以来一直在集邮。
【注意】(1)“since+时间点”常与现在完成时连用。
I have studied French since I came here.自从来这儿我就学习法语了。
(2)“It is+时间段+since”指“自从……已经多长时间了”。
It is three years since she came here.她来这儿已经三年了。
Step 3:Drill
Do Exercise 2 and Exercise 3 on Page 103.
