show vt., vi. 展示，出示； 给……看。如：

He shows me his pictures.

他把他的图画给我看。

He shows me his new books.

他给我看他的新书。

Show n.展示；展览；（剧院、夜总会、电台或电视里的）表演。如：

Many people went to see the flower show. 许多人去看了花展。

These TV shows are very interesting. 这些电视节目非常有趣。

2. —What’s this/that?

—这是/那是什么？
—这是/那是……

    这是以What开头的、询问某个物品是什么的特殊疑问句型。其答语为“It’s a/an …”. 例如：

—What’s this? 这是什么？
—It’s a watch. 一只手表。

—What’s that? 那是什么？

—It’s a book. 一本书。

再看以下句子：

It’s a ruler.

该句的一般疑问形式是: Is it a ruler?

这个句子的肯定回答和否定回答是:

Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.
