The tw 1,000sqm areas will be pen fr anyne t help with any jb that needs ding. He is lending his machinery fr the backbreaking wrk. Farm suppliers are supprting the prject, with Kings Seeds and Tzer dnating seeds and Hwseman Agriculture ffering irrigatin equipment.

The Supreme Curt’s decisins n physician-assisted suicide carry imprtant implicatins fr hw medicine seeds t relieve dying patients f pain and suffering.
Althugh it ruled that there is n cnstitutinal right t physician-assisted suicide, the Curt in effect supprted the medical principle f “duble effects”, a centuries-ld mral principle hlding that an actin having tw effects----a gd ne that is intended and a harmful ne that is freseen---is permissible if the actr intends nly the gd effect.
Dctrs have used that principle in recent years t justify using high dses f mrphine t cntrl terminally ill patients’ pain, even thugh increasing dsages will eventually kill the patient.
Nancy Dubler, directr f Mntefire Medical Center, cntends that the principle will shield dctrs wh "until nw have very, very strngly insisted that they culd nt give patients sufficient medicatin t cntrl their pain if that might hasten death."
Gerge Annas, chair f the health law department at Bstn University, maintains that, as lng as a dctr prescribes a drug fr a legitimate medical purpse, the dctr has dne nthing illegal even if the patient uses the drug t hasten death. "It's like surgery, " he says. “We dn't call thse deaths hmicides because the dctrs didn't intend t kill their patients, althugh they risked their death. If yu're a physician, yu can risk yur patient's suicide as lng as yu dn't intend their suicide."
On anther level, many in the medical cmmunity acknwledge that the assisted-suicide debate has been fueled in part by the despair f patients fr whm mdern medicine has prlnged the physical agny(痛苦) f dying.
Just three weeks befre the Curt's ruling n physician-assisted suicide, the Natinal Academy f Science (NAS) released a tw-vlume reprt, Appraching Death: Imprving Care at the End f Life. It identifies the undertreatment f pain and the aggressive use f "ineffectual and frced medical prcedures that may prlng and even dishnr the perid f dying" as the twin prblems f end-f-life care.
The prfessin is taking steps t require yung dctrs t train in hspices, t test knwledge f aggressive pain management therapies, t develp a Medicare billing cde fr hspital-based care, and t develp new standards fr assessing and treating pain at the end f life.
Annas says lawyers can play a key rle in insisting that these well-meaning medical initiatives translate int better care. “Large numbers f physicians seem uncncerned with the pain their patients are needlessly and predictably suffering,” t the extent that it cnstitutes “systematic patient abuse.” He says medical licensing bards “must make it clear ... that painful deaths are presumptively nes that are incmpetently managed and shuld result in license suspensin(暂停).”
3.Which f the fllwing best defines the wrd "aggressive" (line 3, paragraph 7 ) ?

The pair were rushed t a field hspital n the island t be treated. The mum had severe burns t her paws and was badly dehydrated(脱水的), while her baby sn had an eye injury and was underweight.
Sctt, wh has appeared n ITV’s This Mrning and BBC’s Blue Peter, said the mther is shwing “great signs f imprvement” and her wunds are starting t heal. The baby has undergne surgery t his eye and is “recvering frm the anesthetic (麻药) and ding well”.
But he added: “The mther remains dehydrated s isn’t prducing enugh milk t feed the baby. At the mment they’re being hused severally but there is the hpe that when the baby is a little strnger he will be able t be returned t his mther.”
Even after they recver, the pair will prbably spend their lives in an enclsure while the bush takes years t recver. Sctt said: “Sadly patients are still cming in thick and fast. Each f these animals is requiring t be hused and fed, and regular medical treatment t their injuries.”

When Lauren Marler began having disturbing symptms at the age f 15, she smehw knew it was cancer. After sme research, she realized she was right. But that was just the beginning f her hrrific cancer jurney. Marler's dctrs discvered that what she had was truly unlucky—but she's still here t tell her tale.
In 2005, Marler nticed bld in her stl; she was t embarrassed t tell anyne. Fr tw years she kept silent. “I lked up my symptms and knew I had all the signs fr cln cancer,” she says. “Hwever, my mm thught I was verreacting.” Eventually, the dctr she visited cnfirmed she had a cln cancer at the age f 17.
“The dctr said that I needed t get t the University f Texas MD Andersn Cancer Centre immediately,” Marler recalls. There she met with Miguel Rdriguez-Bigas, wh remved Marler's entire cln and almst all f her rectum(直肠).
But just nine mnths later, the cancer returned. “When my mm tld me, I just felt like, ‘Yu've gt t be kidding me. I just want t be a nrmal kid.’” After anther surgery, three mnths f chemtherapy(化疗), Marler believed that her cancer battles had t be ver.
Then, during a rutine scan t ensure that she was still in remissin(重病的缓解期) five years later, 23-year-ld Marler gt a call. “The dctr called t tell me that the scan shwed a spt in my uterus(子宫) and it was endmetrial cancer, an aggressive ne. We went back t MD Andersn t meet with Pedr T. Ramirez, wh recmmended a full hysterectmy(子宫切除).”
Puzzled by Marler's histry, Dr. RdriguezBigas recmmended that she get genetic testing. The testing revealed the bad news: Marler had an incredibly rare disrder called CMMRD. Dr. RdriguezBigas explained that the disrder makes a persn likely t suffer frm different cancers. There is n treatment fr the disrder, nly preventive care—primarily regular scans t catch any develping cancers early. Armed with an answer fr the grief and suffering she had endured fr the past decade f her life, Marler actually felt a sense f relief. “It's heartbreaking, but at least I have an answer.”
Three years later, Marler was unable t shake what she thught was sinus infectin(鼻窦感染). Marler's mther knew smething wasn't right when Marler refused t g back t the hspital because f the level f pain she felt.
On this trip t the hspital, Marler was admitted and scanned. “I culdn't believe it was happening again. The medical test shwed that it was lymphma(淋巴瘤), ne f the hardest types t treat. The dctrs tld me the treatment was ging t be s painful that I wuld hate them by the time it was ver. They were right.” Marler endured six different types f chemtherapy at the same time, ne f which was delivered thrugh her spinal crd. She was required t be admitted t the hspital every ther week fr six days. “I was s weak that I culdn't get ff my cuch. I lst all f my hair, and I had severe bdy aches,” she recalls.
Tday, at 28, Marler is nce again in remissin—smething she definitely desn't take fr granted. She credits her family fr her ability t endure her repeated battles with a smile. She says, “I laugh a lt. That's ne thing my family des really well—we can find the humur in any situatin. I've always fund a way t laugh. I d wrry abut what's next, but I can't let it cnsume me. I've learned t live with it.”

Driving while talking n the phne increases the likelihd f an accident and is actually mre dangerus than driving drunk, U.S. researchers reprt. This hlds true whether the driver is hlding a cell phne r using a hands⁃free device.
“As a sciety, we have agreed n nt tlerating the risk assciated with drunk driving," said researcher Frank Drews, an assistant prfessr f psychlgy at the University f Utah. “This study shws us that smebdy wh is cnversing n a cell phne is expsing him r herself and thers t a similar risk — cell phnes actually are a higher risk,” he said.
In the study, 40 peple fllwed a pace car alng a prescribed curse, using a driving simulatr(模拟仪). Sme peple drve while talking n a cell phne, thers drve while drunk(meaning their bld-alchl limit matched the legal limit f 0.08 percent), and thers drve with n such distractins. The researchers fund an increased accident rate when peple were cnversing n the cell phne. Drivers n cell phnes were 5.36 times mre likely t get in an accident.
The bttm line: Cell⁃phne use was linked t“a significant increase in the accident rate,” Drews said.
The phne users did even wrse than the inebriated, the Utah team fund. There were three accidents amng thse talking n cell phnes — all f them invlving a rear⁃ending(追尾) f the pace car. In cntrast, there were n accidents recrded amng participants wh were drunk.
In respnse t safety cncerns, sme states have declared it illegal t use hand ⁃ held cell phnes while driving. But that type f law may nt be effective, because the Utah researchers fund n difference in driver perfrmance whether the driver was hlding the phne r talking n a hands⁃free mdel.
“We have seen again and again that there is n difference between hands⁃free and hand⁃held devices,”Drews said.“The prblem is the cnversatin. The best slutin t the prblem is bvius: Dn’t talk n the phne while yu are driving. ”
2.What des the underlined phrase “the inebriated” in paragraph 5 refer t?
    A.The drunk drivers.B.The researchers.
    C.The cell-phne-free drivers.D.The Utah team.
Des it matter if a language dies ut? The traditinal answer is yes, because every language is a repsitry(智囊)f ideas and culture and represents a unique way f lking at the wrld. The planet nly has abut 7,000 languages; the extinctin f even ne decreases the sum ttal f human knwledge.
But in sme cases, extinctin can be seen in a mre psitive light. Take Al-Sayyid Beduin Sign Language(ABSL)fr example, restricted t abut 1,000 users in a small Israeli village with a high level f brn deafness, the language seems t be bund t die by the spread f Israeli sign language.
The natural reactin t the lss f ABSL is regret. It is a fascinating language that has kept linguists busy since it came t their attentin arund 15 years ag. But fr the deaf villagers, Israeli sign language is an upgrade: it allws them t speak t tens f thusands f peple rather than a few hundred, and enables them t wrk and marry utside the village. It is hard t see that as anything ther than prgress. Similarly, ther endangered languages die ut because peple abandn them in favr f nes that serve their needs better.
Technlgy als sftens the blw, as endangered languages can nw be captured in detail- which als means they culd eventually be brught back frm the dead, much as the Hebrew language was in the 19th century. It is nw the first language f 9 millin peple.
Linguists naturally cndemn the lss f language much as cnservatinists(环保主义者)nce murned the lss f every single species. But they are mving twards acceptance that nt all species can be saved, that invasive species are nt always bad and that human-engineered ecsystems are nt necessarily inferir t natural nes. Perhaps ur attitudes t language extinctin are due fr a similar change.
2.What des the underlined wrd "Upgrade" in Paragraph 3 mean?
    A.Recvery.B.Opprtunity.C.ImprvementD.Update.
