National Treasure has Chinese audiences fired up. But don't confuse it with the Hollywood action film of the same name, in which the hidden history of the United States going back around 250 years is discovered. In the Chinese show, producers are lucky—China has a much longer history, and their plan to introduce relics is welcomed by the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City, and eight key provincelevel museums.
Yu Lei, director of the show, explained how items are chosen, “Our standard is not to choose the most precious items. We want the ones with most attractive stories. If people are bored, there is something wrong with our methods.” “These cultural relics are like aged people. They have so much to tell us,” she said.
In each 100minute period, three key exhibits from a museum are introduced by entertainment stars, called the “national treasure guardians”, through short stage dramas, telling the history of the legends behind the items. Some lesserknown stories on how the items were unearthed are featured in the show.In the periods, experts speak about the relics and ordinary people are also invited on stage to share their stories linked to such relics.Knowledge, entertainment, taste and an accessible approach have been put together in one show. When people see cultural relics in this lively way, they feel history.
The aim of the show is not to create a hit program but to attract more people to museums.More seasons of National Treasure are planned, and some treasures from the show are to be featured in a touring exhibition soon after the first season ends. A show like this fuels people's pride in their country.

Along with the standard pigments (颜料) and paintbrushes, artist Sean Yoro (known as Hula), requires an unconventional piece of equipment for his particular brand of mural (壁画 ) making: a paddleboard.
The Hawaiian muralist, balanced on the top of the floating platform, describes women from various sites across the world, whose homelands are often threatened by the effects of global warming.
For his most recent project, titled “What If You Fly”,Hula traveled to Baffin Island, off the coast of Nunavut, Canada, to paint a portrait of local Inuit woman Jesse Mike, who lives there with her daughter.
In a short film telling of the artist's process, Mike explains her frustrating previous experiences working with filmmakers who reported on the terrible circumstances troubling her endangered landscape. “For most people, it's about the polar bears, it's not about the people,”she said. “Well, let's make it about the people.”
Hula and his team spent 14 hours searching for the perfect iceberg canvas (油画布), knowing all the while that the ice itself, and any image created on the top of it, would soon melt away into nothing.
“It's a little ambitious to do this largerthanlife ice mural in the Arctic, and somehow, at the same time, make a connection to the human culture,”climber and filmmaker Renan Ozturk said of the project.
When Hula found his proper ice, he painted a portrait of Jesse he took earlier on his camera. Working against the power of time and Mother Nature, the artist aimed to finish as much of Jesse's portrait as he could before the iceberg disappeared.
The massive image, Hula's most remote and technically challenging piece yet, communicates a memorable reality—the consequences of climate change, first and foremost, affect people.
本文主要叙述了壁画大师Hula去往Baffin Island,通过在冰上画一位因纽特女性的肖像来提醒人们气候变化的后果正在影响人类这一现实。

7.Why did Hula paint images on the Arctic ice?
A.He wanted to show his unconventional painting.
B.He was ambitious enough to explore Mother Nature.
C.He made an attempt to paint on varieties of materials.
D.He wanted to warn people of the consequences of global warming.
答案:D

Did you know that almost one out of three teens think there is nothing wrong with using prescription drugs (处方药) without a doctor's prescription? Medicines can help people fight illnesses and get better faster, and can keep people from getting sick in the first place. But if they aren't taken correctly, medicines may cause more harm than good.
Imagine this: After three days of taking the medicine your doctor prescribed for sore throat, you feel great. You still have seven days' worth of pills left. Is it OK to stop taking them and put them away until the next time you get sick? No! Always finish taking all the drugs prescribed by your doctor, even if you start to feel healthy again. When bacteria are undertreated, they have a chance to multiply.
The most common way teens get medications they aren't supposed to be taking is from a friend or a relative. But sharing your medicine, or taking another person's medication, can be dangerous. If the drug was not prescribed for you, you don't have your own doctor's knowledge of how the prescription medicine will interact (相互影响) with your own body or with other medicines you may be taking. That means you could get very sick.Plus, if you take someone else's medicine, that person won't have enough of it. Pharmacists (药剂师) cannot refill a prescription if a medication has been used up before it should have been. That could put the other person's health in danger.
Every week, nearly one in ten kids use some kind of cough and cold medicine. Cough and cold medicines can be a big help, but because you can buy them without a prescription, many people don't realize just how dangerous those drugs can be if they are misused. For example, the ingredient (成分) diphenhydramine, which treats coughs, can make you stop breathing if you take too much. These medications are not meant to take away all your symptoms and make you feel back to normal—they only help a little bit. Taking more than you should won't help your symptoms.
