Accrding t the American Autmbile Assciatin (美国汽车协会), since 1964 all cars sld in the United States have been equipped with seat belts (安全带). (These are als called safety belts.) Many studies f autmbile accidents have shwn that safety belts can save lives. One study shwed that frty percent f thse killed in aut accidents culd have been saved if they had been wearing seat belts.
