BANGKOK, Thailand(CNN)- Thailand’s tsunami(海啸) death culd reach 8,000, with mre than half f thse freign turists hlidaying in the natin’s suthern resrts when the disaster struck.
There are mre than3,000 visitrs frm Sweden amng the missing in Thailand, and the Scandinavian natin is ready t deal with what culd be the wrst natural disaster in its histry.

A study f 192 third and furth graders, generally aged eight and nine, fund that children wh cut the number f hurs spent watching televisin gained nearby tw punds(0.9kg) less ver a ne-year perid than thse wh did nt changed their televisin diet.
“The findings are imprtant because they shw that weight lss can nly be the result f reductin in televisin viewing and nt any ther activity,” said Thmas Rbisn, a pediatrician(儿科专家) at Stanfrd University.
“American children spend an average f mre than fur hurs per day watching televisin and vides r playing vide games, and rates f childhd being very fat have dubled ver the past 20myears,” Rbisn said.
In the study, presented this week t the Pediatric Academic Scieties’ annual meeting in San Francisc, the researchers persuaded abut 100 f the students t reduce their televisin viewing by ne-quarter t ne-third.
