      Dear Mr.White,
      Our English club is rganizing a debate cmpetitin titled “The Prs and Cns f AI in Life” n March 15th at 3 p. m. in the schl auditrium. We wuld be hnred if yu culd serve as a judge, given yur expertise in debate.
      The event is scheduled t fllw a standard frmat: pening statements (5 minutes per team), pint-by-pint rebuttals (10 minutes), and clsing remarks (3 minutes per team). I remembered hw prud I was when I gave it t Dad---he’d held it fr a lng time and put it in his wallet that day. Nw I realized he’d kept it all these days, even when I’d lng frgtten abut it. I thught f all the times I’d yelled at him fr the nise, and hw he’d never gtten angry. My eyes started t water.
      With the wd plane I’d hidden earlier in my hand, I walked ver t Dad. He was sanding a small piece f wd, and he lked up in surprise when he saw me. “Dad, I’m srry,” I said, handing him the plane. “I shuldn’t have hidden this, and I shuldn’t have cmplained abut yur wdwrk.” Dad smiled and patted my shulder. “It’s kay, kid. Want t learn hw t carve a
      little star?” I ndded, and sat dwn next t him. The sand f sanding, which used t anny me, nw felt warm and nice.

I had always cmplained abut the nise Dad made, never thinking abut why he kept wrking late. It suddenly dawned n me that he just wanted t make delicate little gifts fr me with his wn hands, silently expressing his lve in his simple way. All my previus impatience and selfishness made my face burn with shame. I held the drawing tightly, tears welling up in my eyes.

Lking at his kind and tired face, I made up my mind t be mre understanding and cnsiderate. Frm then n, I learned t appreciate Dad’s quiet lve and treasure every mment with him.
