Last summer, I went t an internatinal summer camp. There, I spent tw mnths with 50 campers frm 30 different cuntries in the wrld. I thught it wuld be easy fr us t understand each ther, since we all speak English, ne f the mst widely used languages. Hwever, I was wrng.The first challenge was the variety f accents, which made it difficult fr us t understand each ther. In additin, the differences in fd, clthing, custms and traditins als caused sme misunderstandings.

They were excited t find that ur pinyin is very much like their alphabet system. I even taught them the hand gestures we ften use. Much t my pleasure, mre and mre campers came t talk t me.
