      请认真阅读下列短文,并根据所读内容在文章后表格的空格处里填人最恰当的单词。
      注意:每个空格填1个单词。
There are gd reasns t cherish ur friendships. Sme years ag a public-pinin research firm, Rper Starch Wrldwide, asked 2007 peple t identify ne r tw things that said the mst abut themselves. Friends far utranked hmes, jbs, clthes and cars.
“Irnically,” says Brant R. Burlesn, prfessr f cmmunicatin at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., “the better friends yu are, the mre likely yu’ll face cnflicts.” And the utcme can be what yu dn’t want ---an end t the relatinship.
The gd news is that mst trubled friendships can be mended.
Swallw yur pride. It wasn’t easy, but that’s what Denise Mreland f Hickam Air Frce Base in Hawaii did when a friendship turned sur. Fr nearly fur mnths, Mreland, 45, had watched ver Nra Huizenga’s tw yung daughters, wh were living with their father n the base, while Huizenga, 40, cmpleted training as a dental hygienist in Nevada. “I felt hnred t be asked t step in,” Mreland says.
When Huizenga returned at Christmas, Mreland recalls, “I had s much t tell her, but she never called.”
One daughter had a birthday party, but Mreland wasn’t invited. “I felt like I’d been used,” she says.
At first, Mreland swre t avid Huizenga. Then she decided t swallw her pride and let her friend knw hw she felt. Huizenga admitted that she’d been s wrried abut being separated frm her family that she’d been blind t what her friend had dne t help her. Tday she says, “I wuld never have figured ut what happened if Denise hadn’t called me n it.”
When a friend hurts yu, yur instinct is t prtect yurself. But that makes it harder t slve prblems, explains William Wilmt, authr f Relatinal Cmmunicatin. “Mst f us are relieved when differences are brught ut in the pen.”
Aplgize when yu’re wrng ---even if yu’ve als been wrnged. But ver the curse f a friendship, even the best peple make mistakes. “We dn’t think clearly when we’re arguing,” says Michael Lang, a prfessinal mediatr in Pittsburgh. Instead, says Lang, ask: “What’s ging n? This desn’t make sense.”
See things frm yur friend’s pint f view. Scilgists Rebecca Adams Rsemary and Blieszner interviewed 53 adults wh each had many friendships lasting decades. “We were curius hw these peple managed t sustain strng friendships fr s lng,” says Blieszner. Tlerance is key, the researchers learned.” It’s surprising hw ften a dispute results frm a simple misunderstanding,” adds psychtherapist Anne Frenkel.
Accept that friendships change. “Friendships change as ur needs and lifestyles change,” Wilmt bserves.
Making friends can smetimes seem easy, says Yager. The hard part is keeping the cnnectins strng during the natural ups and dwns that affect all relatinships. Her suggestin: Cnsider friendship an hnr and a gift, and wrth the effrt t treasure and nurture.
