Sra, a new vide app frm OpenAI, ffers a dreamlike experience. Yu might see a wman in a jud-jacket
bw t an elephant befre flipping it ver her shulder, r a yung skater racing acrss Saturn’s rings. This service
wuld be strange fr an AI cmpany if it were nt fr the fact that the vides n Sra are all AI-made. Users cannt
uplad their wn cntent. Instead, the Sra feed prvides a cnstant stream f AI-made pabulum (精神食粮).
Althugh the app is invitatin-nly, it has becme very ppular, quickly reaching the tp f app-stre charts in
the U.S. and Canada. “Invite” keys have becme s valuable that they are being sld nline.
Hwever, success cmes at a cst. While Sra is free fr invited users, running it is expensive fr OpenAI —
each AI vide csts mney t prduce. Traditinal scial media platfrms earn mney frm user-created cntent
and advertisements. In cntrast, Sra’s business mdel appears much less prmising if the cmpany lses mney
      n every pst.
But the true value f Sra may lie beynd pleasure. A recent research paper suggests that such vide mdels
can slve varius visual prblems withut specific training. If a user requests an amusing vide, the system will
make ne. If the user presents a visual task, the mdel can slve that, t.
Fr example, if yu give it a picture f a parrt n a tree and ask fr a vide where all clrs and details
disslve, leaving nly the edges visible, it will successfully cmplete this task. It can als handle tasks that are quite
disparate frm image editing. Prvide it with an unfinished Sudku (数独) prblem and ask fr a vide shwing
the slutin, and the mdel can finish the prblem.
This wide range f abilities establishes them as “zer-sht reasners” — they can slve tasks they have never
encuntered befre. Newer systems perfrm better at this than earlier mdels. Researchers believe that vide
mdels will develp int general-purpse tls fr visin, making it pssible t slve any visual challenge withut
special training. The cntent Sra creates tday fr pleasure may nly be the first step in this interesting jurney.
      28. What is a key feature f the Sra app?
      A. Its vides are entirely made by AI.
      B. It is the mst ppular app develped by Ggle.
      C. It requires n Internet cnnectin t watch vides.
      D. It allws users t create and share their wn vides.
      29. What can be inferred abut Sra’s business mdel?
      A. It will play a leading rle in the field.
      B. It faces cst-related challenges due t high csts.
      C. It earns mre mney than traditinal scial media.
      D. It mainly relies n advertisement incme fr its earnings.
      30. What des the underlined wrd “disparate” in paragraph 5 prbably mean?
      A. Similar. B. Creative. C. Difficult. D. Distinct.
      31. What is the authr’s attitude twards the future f vide mdels like Sra?
      A. Expectant. B. Unclear. C. Indifferent. D. Cautius.
      D
Mst f us were raised t think that smart peple always knw the right answers. Frm gld stars in schl t
perfrmance reviews in the ffice, we’re rewarded fr certainty.
Yet as Bidhan Parmar, a prfessr at the UVA Darden Schl f Business, argues in his new bk, Radical
Dubt, “Certainty smehw blinds us. The nly thing that spn-feeding teaches us is the shape f a spn.” His
pint is unsettling: The very habits we rely n t feel smart — rushing twards the final gals, simplifying
cmplex prblems, sugar-cating ur initial reactins — are the nes that keep us frm making wise chices.
The hardest prblems we face in life, whether in careers, relatinships, r sciety, rarely cme with single
right answers. They’re what Parmar calls “mments f unease”: multi-criteria chices that invlve cmpeting gals,
high risks, and deep uncertainty. The ld playbk f being a “right-answer getter” nt nly fails here, but
backfires. As Parmar explains, “We ften treat cmplex prblems like simple nes until we are faced with the
      reality.”
Our persnal and prfessinal envirnments are mre uncertain than ever. Technlgy evlves faster than
regulatin, wrkplaces are mre diverse, and scial standards are shifting. I’ve watched firsthand that seasned
leaders ignred warning signs because they were addicted t “feeling right.” They simplified the situatin when
they shuld have paused r explred, and missed the pprtunity that dubt was pinting them twards.
Our brains run n intercnnected systems: the Pursue system (seek rewards), the Prtect system (avid threats),
and the Pause-and-Piece-Tgether system (engage dubt and reframe). Prir evidence-based studies reprt that
mst f us let the first tw dminate, charging ahead r withdrawing in fear. Grunded in behaviral science, the
wiser mve is t take enugh time t ntice cmplexity, questin assumptins, and treat ur intuitin (直觉) nt as
the nly decisin but as an alternative. In practice, this means hlding cmpeting gals side by side, and learning t
say nt “I knw,” but “I’m learning.”
      32. What is implied by mentining the spn-feeding?
      A. Certainty might ruin decisin-making. B. Average peple can learn few facts.
      C. Smart habits secure psitive utcmes. D. Simple tls secretly bst creativity.
      33. Which might be a “mment f unease”?
      A. Prfiting frm stable investments with spare funds.
      B. Trying t find a jb verseas when a parent falls ill.
      C. Treating difficult prblems with ne’s first intuitin.
      D. Cntinuing t develp in ne’s familiar research field.
      34. What can make leaders fail accrding t the authr?
      A. Shifting standards. B. Lacking experience. C. Ignring principles. D. Overlking dubts.
      35. What is mainly talked abut in the last paragraph?
      A. Intuitin types and brain functins. B. Initial dubts and cmpeting gals.
      C. Brain systems and cnnectin frms. D. Scientific theries and wrkable tips.

Phillips was a kindergarten teacher wh taught in Atlanta. Frm the first week f the new semester, she
