Althugh the VARK learning styles have been widely regarded as helpful fr students wh have a better understanding f themselves and hw t direct their studying, it has its disadvantages. Despite ne learning style making it easier fr yu t study, it can in sme ways be a barrier (阻碍). What if yu struggle t learn a particular subject using a specific learning style? It can ften lead yu t feel as thugh yu'll never be able t understand the infrmatin - rather than thinking anther methd might wrk better. It's cmmn fr learners t benefit frm mre than ne learning
style; e.g. watching a vide f smene putting tgether furniture (kinaesthetic) and then fllwing the diagram themselves (visual).
S, althugh the VARK learning styles may be a great way t better understand hw best yu learn, it's imprtant t play arund with different study methds t see which wrks best fr yu, especially when appraching different subjects. Kinaesthetic learning might be great fr helping yu understand hw gravity wrks, but it might nt be s helpful fr petry analysis.
Trying a cmbinatin f different learning styles wn't nly help yu imprve yur cncentratin and study mtivatin, but yu'll als becme a mre effective learner, spending time n the activities that are ging t help yu achieve the mst effect.

B. Write summaries f a science textbk.
C. Draw mindmaps fr a histry lessn.
D. Listen t the radi and repeat key pints.
23. What advice is given t be a mre effective learner?

The success f Chinese shrt dramas verseas is nt abut spreading dmestic (国内的) cntent, but abut lcalized reinventin in themes and visual language fr the verseas market.
Xu Wensng, an assciate prfessr at the Schl f Cultural Industry Management at the Cmmunicatin University f China, tld us that Chinese shrt dramas are characterized by appealing strylines, an ability t deliver high emtinal value and instant entertainment. With imprving prductin quality, these shrt dramas hld a certain cmpetitive edge in internatinal markets. "Chinese platfrms are gd at adjusting cntent t lcal tastes", Xu said.
Micr drama prductin has restructured the traditinal lgic f the film and televisin industry. A Hllywd film editr said that an increasing number f micr dramas funded by Chinese cmpanies, develped by Chinese creative teams, and starring Hllywd actrs are being prduced in Ls Angeles. This, he said, has "rescued" many Hllywd prfessinals wh were n the brink f unemplyment.
Sun Jiashan, an assciate researcher at the Central Academy f Culture and Turism Administratin, nted that the verseas develpment f Chinese micr dramas symblizes a significant practice f "cultural utput in the digital age". Sun believes that micr dramas may becme an imprtant tl fr China's cultural sft pwer, carving ut a different path in the glbal
streaming cmpetitin.

Sunscreen (防晒霜) is imprtant fr keeping skin safe frm sun damage and preventing skin cancer. The chemicals in many sunscreens, hwever, can be harmful fr sea life. This has inspired scientists t develp a new kind f sunscreen made frm flwer pllen (花粉).
Sunscreen wrks by using special chemicals that blck ultravilet (UV) light frm the Sun's rays, and peple ften apply it t their skin befre ging int the cean r ther natural waterways. But the chemicals are washed ff by the water and spread int it, affecting the wildlife that lives there. This is especially harmful fr cral reefs (珊瑚礁), which supprt a wide variety f fish, plants, and ther underwater life.
T find an alternative, scientists frm Nanyang Technlgical University in Singapre turned t pllen, which is knwn t be resistant t UV light. The team prepared water - based gels (凝胶) made frm pllen f camellia flwers and sunflwers. Then they tested hw well thse gels blcked UV light, including bth UVA and UVB - wavelengths f UV light - prduced by the Sun and tanning beds, that damage skin. Bth gels tk in UV rays, the team fund, but the camellia gel tk in mre UVB rays, shrter wavelength rays mainly respnsible fr causing sunburn and skin cancers, than the sunflwer gel did. When tested n mice, bth gels prevented skin damage when the mice were put in UV light fr a few minutes per day. Mice that didn't receive sunscreen had thinner skin after the same UV experience. The team als put samples f the gels in saltwater tanks cntaining cral, which still appeared healthy after tw mnths.
"What they're ding are first steps, but they're really imprtant first steps," said Craig Dwns, the executive directr f Haereticus Envirnmental Labratry, a nn - prfit rganizatin dedicated t preserving ecsystems. Sme f the next steps might be t assess whether the pllen - based sunscreen is harmful t ther wildlife in natural envirnments, then clear safety tests in humans. "But if they are successful," Dwns added, "in five t eight years, this might be a marketable prduct."
28. Why did scientists develp pllen - based sunscreen?
A. Fr lw csts.B. Fr skin safety.C. Fr sea prtectin.D. Fr ecnmic benefits.
29. What can we infer frm paragraph 3?
A. Sunflwer gel takes in mst f the UVB rays.
B. Sunflwer gel is respnsible fr causing skin damage.
C. Camellia gel left the mice with thinner skin than regular sunscreen.
D. Camellia gel is mre effective in UV prtectin than sunflwer ne.
30. What did Craig Dwns think f the pllen - based sunscreen?
A. Prfitable. /B. Dangerus.C. Demanding.D. Alarming.
31. Which f the fllwing can be a suitable title fr the passage?
A. The Histry f Sunscreen Develpment
B. Pllen - Based Sunscreen: A Safe Chice
C. UV Light: The Main Cause f Skin Damage
D. The preservatin f Cral Reefs frm Sunscreen
32. What is the main purpse f the article?
A. T shw new weapn preservatin findings.B. T cmpare weapn preservatin technlgies.
C. T investigate earlier metal preservatin chemicals.D. T intrduce theries abut preservatin technlgy.
33. What led t the gd preservatin f the Terractta Army's weapns?
A. The specific chemicals in sil.
B. The chrmium cating n weapns.
C. The use f lst anti - rust technlgy.
D. The mixture f brnze and specific sil.
Scientists discvered the reasn why China's Terractta Army's weapns remained s well preserved(保护) fr ver 2,000 years: a cmbinatin f brnze and the sil the army was buried in.
Qinshihuang, the first emperr f a unified China, was buried with an army f terractta warrirs in a mausleum in Xi'An, a Wrld Heritage UNESCO site. N tw faces f these warrirs are alike, but what's fascinated archaelgists is just hw these warrirs' weapns have been preserved ver the centuries.
When archaelgists uncvered this army in the 1970s, sme fans f "ancient lst technlgies" believed these weapns had survived the test f time due t sme lst technlgy ancestrs used. Anther thery suggested that these weapns had been treated with anti - rust chemicals like chrmium (%), s it was believed that peple had treated these weapns with a srt f chrmium cating.
Hwever, the authrs f a recent study believe the tw theries shuld "be given up." Firstly, chrmium was fund n nly 37 f the 464 weapns examined, mstly n areas like handles and triggers. These parts were wden and wuld have been cated with lacquer (漆), which cntained chrmium at that time. Secndly, the best - preserved weapns weren't the nes that had much chrmium cating, s this thery culdn't stand n its wn tw feet.
Simply put, the preservatin was managed thanks t a cmbinatin f the higher tin cntent in the brnze, as well as the specific sil the army was buried in. When the scientists lked int the sil, it shwed a slightly alkaline (碱性的) chemical cmpsitin and had small particles that wuld have prevented natural acids and rganic matter frm rusting thrugh the metals.
It wuld have been cl t claim the ancient Terractta Army's weapn preservatin was linked t sme lng - lst technlgy. Hwever, it's even cler that scientists are able t figure ut the lng - standing mystery.
34. What des the authr mean by saying the underlined sentence in paragraph 4?
A. The thery was lgically sund.
B. The thery failed t prve itself.
C. The thery missed the key pints.
D. The thery shall stand the test f time.
35. What is the authr's attitude twards the discvery?
A. Cnfident.B. Admiring.C. Dubtful.D. Uncncerned.

This is why managers shuld appreciate hw influential the IT user experience is, and make a substantial effrt t ensure their IT team fixes prgramming errrs and applicatin crashes. Adequate and timely IT supprt shuld als be available t help users reslve technlgical issues at wrk. Mre imprtantly, IT practitiners need t understand hw emplyees feel when they use IT.
Therefre, businesses need t design their IT infrastructure(基础设施) t fit their emplyees' wrk, rather than frce emplyees t wrk arund the cmpany's IT limitatins.
36. What makes the authr say IT wrk is nt a jb he envies?
