My three bys were infatuated (迷恋) with building blcks as children, and my husband wuld play with them, teaching the cncept f a “stable base”. Urban fd frests serve a unique rle. They aren’t large — the ftprint is rughly the size f a husing lt — but they can hst ver 100 species f plants n an acre. On a recent Wednesday, 15 vlunteers, mst f whm were new t BFFC, gt t wrk remving mugwrt (艾草) frm arund a pear tree. Once the weeds were pulled, vlunteers used a natural weeding prcess that wuld suppress (抑制) the plant’s return by laying the picked mugwrt back dwn in thick mats and placing big sheets f cardbard n tp.
