      Imagine yu’re walking acrss endless hills, with warm sunshine and the sund f birds all arund. This peaceful scene is a rare ne in the mdern wrld. Our natural sundscapes (声音环境) are falling silent as bird ppulatins reduce.
      Our study explres the link between birdsng and peple, specifically n English vineyards (葡萄园). We surveyed bird cmmunities n 21 vineyards and ur results shwed that vineyards with mre bird species (物种) had luder and mre cmplex (复杂的) sundscapes.
      But des the silencing f ur sundscapes matter t us? The shrt answer is yes. There is grwing evidence abut the health benefits f spending time in nature, including reducing risks f heart disease and anxiety.
      S as part f ur research, we explred the experience f 186 wine-tur participants (参与者) acrss three vineyards with different sundscapes. We als imprved sme vineyard sundscapes with hidden speakers, which played the sngs f five additinal bird species. This was designed t see hw participants’ cntact with nature wuld be affected by increasing the kinds f birds and sngs.
      The results were fascinating. Visitrs wh experienced luder and mre cmplex sunds — whether n vineyards with naturally richer sundscapes r n thse we had imprved — reprted enjying the sunds mre. They felt mre cnnected t nature and mre satisfied with their tur. With richer sundscapes, they felt mre mindful and psitive during the turs.
      Our study shws the direct effect that birdsng has n ur happiness and presents a strng argument fr prtecting natural sundscapes. S, we hpe businesses and peple will be inspired t invest (投资) in prtectin and prmte cnnectin with nature.

There is almst n airbrne sund prduced with these vibratinal sunds. Ccrft explained, “If a tree-hpper were t stand n yur finger and prduce a sund, yu wuld feel the vibratin but hear n sund.”
      They shwed that sme sunds, nt surprisingly, seem t be aimed at attracting females. And sme are aimed at ther males.
      Ccrft explained, “When tw males meet each ther, r when they are mate-searching n a branch, we’re hearing ‘purring, bdddddrrrr…’ sunds that males give.” Nrmally, a persn culdn’t hear any f this, because the sund travels alng the stem, inside it. And that’s hw ther tree-hppers detect it.
      Ccrft said tree-hppers have very sensitive legs. And they stand arund n stems, which are gd at spreading vibratins. S they just use what nature gives them t cmmunicate with each ther.
      “They have s many different frms f scial behavir and gruping,” Ccrft explained. “And nce there are animals living in grups, then there will be all srts f interesting pssibilities fr cmmunicatin.”
