The nvel — a wrld cntained within pages, a playgrund fr wrds and ideas. With ur daily lives ruled by screens, reading a gd nvel is a great escape and a smart chice fr many t kill time. But what exactly is a nvel?
A nvel is an invented wrk f prse (散文) that puts tgether characters, plts, and settings t create a narrative (记叙的) wrld, centering n a specific theme r element f the human experience.
The wrd “nvel” cmes frm the Italian term nvella, which riginally meant “new” r “news” and referred t shrt, new stries. Over time, these stries develped int lnger, mre cmplex narratives, leading t the mdern nvel. Thugh strytelling has ancient rts, the nvel as we knw began t take shape in the 17th and 18th centuries, with authrs such as Miguel de Cervantes (Dn Quixte) and Daniel Defe (Rbinsn Cruse) pineering the frm.
Often, style and length are the tw key factrs that set nvels apart frm ther literary wrks. While shrt stries can be read in a single time, nvels are much lnger narratives in chapters r parts, needing mre time. Due t their length, nvels deliver a wider and mre detailed explratin f stries, emtins, and ideas.
The unique style f nvels cmes frm prse — a natural flw f language that cpies everyday speech. Unlike verse (诗句) which depends n strict structures, prse is mre flexible in sentence structure and length. This allws nvels t lk deeply int character develpment, dialgue, and narrative cmplexity.

If yu rder takeut, it’s best t transfer the fd t a nnplastic dish as sn as pssible, and yu shuld use a plate when micrwaving yur fd.
