This inventin greatly increased natinal and internatinal trade, cnnecting distant cmmunities fr the first time.
The wheel changed the way villages, twns and even cuntries did business with each ther, but it wasn’t perfect. The rads were ld walking paths. D yu have a smartphne? Hw well d yu think yu’d cpe if smene tk it frm yu fr three weeks? That was the challenge that 26 pupils at a schl in Clchester, England, recently faced. It was part f an experiment; its purpse was t find ut hw living withut a phne wuld affect them
The 26 pupils were all Year 8 at the Stanway Schl in Essex. They agreed t lck their phnes in a glass bx fr three weeks. Researchers frm the University f Yrk clsely mnitred (跟踪调查) them t see if their behaviur changed ver this time. The experiment was filmed fr a dcumentary TV shw and the adult presenters jined the pupils by als giving up their phnes.
Althugh similar experiments have been carried ut befre, Prfessr Lisa frm the University f Yrk said this ne invlved peple spending a much lnger time withut their smartphnes.
At the end f the experiment, the researchers fund that the pupils had experienced several benefits (好处). On average, they went t bed 50 minutes earlier when they culdn’t use their phnes and fell asleep 20 minutes faster. This meant they gt mre rest, which is imprtant fr md, cncentratin and physical health.
The pupils reprted feeling less wrried, less sad, and clser t ther peple. They spent mre time with their families, and teachers said the pupils were mre alert (头脑清醒的) in class.
