Researchers frm a university in Califrnia have fund that t much screen time can damage (损害) yur eyes and ther imprtant rgans (器官). It can even make yur life shrter. Prfessr Pankaj Kapahi and Brian Hdge published their findings. It shwed that the real situatin is wrse than we thught.
“Our study shws that this is a big prblem: eye damage may actually lead t prblems in ther rgans,” Kapahi said. He and Hdge studied the patterns f fruit flies (果蝇) and fund that verexpsure (过度暴露) t light in the eyes can cause r wrsen chrnic disease (慢性病). Further research fund that fruit flies that were cmpletely in darkness lived lnger than thse that were nt.
T much time spent in frnt f a screen can be bad fr yur health. “T ur surprise, we fund that the eye itself, at least in the fruit fly, can directly change life,” Hdge said. “Lking at cmputer and phne screens will surely be bad fr ur bdy. On tp f these, being expsed t light pllutin late int the night is especially bad fr us,” Kapahi explained. “It makes eye prtectin wrse, damaging the rest f the bdy and the brain.”
These findings are very wrrying because screen time has increased fast fr many kids because f many nline classes. Parents reprted that althugh they prevented their kids frm playing vide games, children’s screen time still increased frm 0.75 hurs t 6.5 hurs a week because f nline classes.
