Feeling bad after a favrite shw ends is cmmn, and it even has an infrmal name: pst-series depressin (PSD). Rita Kttasz, a marketing prfessr at Kingstn University, describes PSD as “a feeling f emptiness and upset when smething yu lve finishes”. This experience can be fund in TV shws, bks, r vide games, creating a desire fr mre.
The idea f PSD gained ppularity n scial media and fan blgs in the mid-2010s, especially during the Glden Age f TV. Kttasz prefers nt t use the name PSD, instead calling it “cnsumer saudade”, a Prtuguese wrd meaning nstalgic (怀旧的) lnging. Hwever, a jurnal editr tld her t use PSD because its widely used utside f research.

In her 2019 paper, she said a Harry Ptter fan wh started reading the series at age 9 and was "sadly left behind’ after the final bk and film published years later.
But it isn’t quite as simple as saying the end f a shw r nvel cntrls ur emtin. Brian Kng, a Chicag-based psychlgist, is wrried that PSD might nt imply (暗示) a cause and effect relatinship between lw mds and a prgram’s end. Instead, he says that when viewers experiencing lasting bad feelings, watching TV might be acting as an anesthetic (麻醉剂) fr a deeper mental prblem, like hw sme peple with anxiety drink alchl. In ther wrds, the lw md already existed, and watching the series nly masked it.
      4. Which f the fllwing is a cmmn respnse amng fans experiencing PSD?
      A. A fresh sense f purpse fr life.B. A deep satisfactin after the shw.
      C. A great sense f lss f best friends.D. A strng desire fr a new hbby.

      B. Watching many episdes (集) f a TV shw at ne time.
      C. Fllwing the episdes f a TV shw fr a lng time.
      D. Reading a bk series while watching the TV adaptatin (改編版).

When we talk abut plastic rubbish plluting the earth, we dn’t ften talk abut the envirnmental impacts caused by fast-fd packaging. Nw Flinders University and ne five are trying mass prductin frm the labratry t the factry.
Althugh achievements like this are definitely wrth celebrating, we can’t just stp at seaweed packaging. We need t use seaweed and ther sustainable tls t effectively help reduce ur envirnmental impacts and make real changes.
