Clthing made frm artificial materials, such as plyester (聚酯纤维), has many psitive advantages. It is cheap t prduce, lasts fr a lng time, and is cmfrtable t wear. Nw, sme scientists frm Lithuania have fund a way t recycle the waste int clean energy.
The researchers began by cllecting lint frm dryers acrss KTU’s (Kaunas University f Technlgy) drmitries. They then used a technique called pyrlysis (高温分解) t transfrm the lint waste int useful energy. The prcess invlves heating the lint withut xygen. This causes the micrfibers t turn int burnable gases and ashes.

Mre imprtantly, abut 70 percent f the waste was turned int energy. Mathematical mdels dne by the researchers indicate that 45 tns f micrfibers — the amunt generated by just ne millin peple annually — culd prduce 13.8 tns f il, 21.5 tns f gas, and 9.7 tns f charcal, and result in an verall prfit f abut $12,0000.

A husehld wuld bring the lintmicrfiber t a cllectin pint and receive sme kind f reward fr it.”
Thugh the technlgy is encuraging, it will take time t perfect and use n a large scale. While we cannt stp ding laundry, there are sme easy ways t reduce ur envirnmental impact. Washing thse clthes less frequently, ding full lads, and line drying them all help reduce the pllutin.
