Yu might have seen firewrks, but have yu seen “irn firewrks” called Datiehua? This traditinal Chinese art uses liquid irn t create bright sparks (火花) like flwers in the sky. The perfrmers need t heat the irn t 1,600℃. Then, they scp the liquid (液体) and hit it with a wden bard. This creates a shwer f sparks.
Yang is a Datiehua perfrmer in Henan Prvince. He was surprised when Jiang, a yung wman, asked t learn this skill. Few wmen tried it befre because it’s dangerus — ht irn can burn skin if handled wrng. Yang warned Jiang, but she didn’t give up. Yang finally decided t give her a chance.
