Fr the past year, I’ve spent many hurs and many Tuesdays vlunteering at a wnderful z. I wrked in the kitchen, helping t prepare fd fr the animals. This z is part f the AZA (Assciatin f Zs and Aquariums). Many animals here are part f a special prgram. The gal f this prgram is t prtect animal species (物种) that are at risk r in danger f disappearing. The z has breeding plans t help these animals survive.
I quickly learned that it’s easy t lve all the animals. I especially liked ne animal right away — the z’s prehensile-tailed prcupine (卷尾豪猪) named Fin. Yu might have seen YuTube vides f these animals eating and making cute nises. I learned that Fin really lves bananas and likes t peel them himself. One f my favrite things abut Fin is his little nse, which lks like a pig’s nse.
I als learned that nthing gets dne withut teamwrk frm the animal keepers. Taking care f all the z animals requires a lt f wrk. The keepers knw a lt abut every animal in the z. They wrk very hard, day and night, t keep the animals safe and healthy. Even in winter, the keepers stay at the z t make sure all the animals are happy and fed.
Zs are imprtant. They teach visitrs why we need t prtect these animals and their hmes. Mst zs care deeply fr their animals and wrk very hard t keep them happy and healthy.

Instant ndles are a favrite quick meal when peple dn’t want t ck. Picture eating them while watching TV n a strmy night — pure cmfrt! But many believe they’re just junk fd that harms health. The truth is, whether they’re unhealthy depends entirely n hw yu prepare them.
The main issue isn’t the ndles themselves, but the cmmn way peple make them: puring biling water ver dried ndles and adding all the salty seasning packets. These flavr packets cntain high levels f salt and artificial additives (人工添加剂), making this versin unbalanced and unhealthy.
Actually, plain instant ndles aren’t terrible. They’re fried during prductin (which adds sme il and calries), but they fill yu up well and prvide quick energy when yu’re hungry. T make them healthier, ck them prperly: bil the ndles first, drain excess starchy (含有淀粉的) water, then use fresh water r brth (肉汤). Crucially, use nly half the seasning packet t reduce salt. Add vegetables like spinach r carrts and prtein like an egg r tfu while cking. This bsts vitamins and prtein while cutting sdium (钠). This transfrms them int a balanced meal!
S, are instant ndles junk fd? If prepared lazily with all the seasning and n extras, yes. But when cked with less seasning plus veggies and prtein, they becme a decent ccasinal meal. Remember: the secret is variety. Enjy them nce r twice a week as part f a diverse diet, and they wn’t harm yur health. They’re far less scary than peple think — just upgrade yur cking methd!
8. What determines if instant ndles are unhealthy?
A. Their quick cking time.B. The time f eating.
C. The preparatin methd.D. The junk fd label.
9. What is the majr cause f unhealthy instant ndles?
A. The dried ndles.B. The flavr packets.
C. Using biling water.D. Peple aviding cking.
10. What is the main purpse f the third paragraph?
A. Warn abut health dangers.B. Give cking instructins.
C. Argue ndles are harmless.D. List harmful additives.
11. What is the suitable title fr the passage?
A. Instant Ndles: Nt All Waste.
B. Instant Ndles: Hw t Ck?
C. Instant Ndles: Eat Smetimes.
D. Instant Ndles: What we knw?

As ne f the fashins in educatin in recent memry, yu’ve certainly heard f the flipped classrm (翻转课堂). It is a type f blended learning where students are intrduced t knwledge at hme and practice using it at schl. This is the ppsite f the mre cmmn practice f intrducing new cntent at schl, then giving hmewrk and prjects t be cmpleted by the students independently at hme.
In this blended learning mdel, face-t-face cmmunicatin is mixed with independent study — usually thrugh vides and e-dictinaries. In a cmmn flipped classrm setting, students might watch pre-recrded vides at hme, then cme t schl t d the hmewrk armed with questins and at least sme backgrund knwledge.
The idea behind the flipped classrm is t rethink when students can use the resurces they need mst. If the prblem is that students need help with the wrk rather than being intrduced t the new thinking behind the wrk, then the slutin the flipped classrm takes is t reverse the traditinal teaching methd.
In a flipped classrm, students watch nline lectures (线上讲座), review nline curse materials, read physical r digital texts, and take part in an nline discussin at hme. What happens at schl includes skill practice, in-persn r face-t-face discussins with classmates, presentatins, experiments, peer (同行) review, and s n. It allws students t stp, lk up wrds nline, and rewatch, creating a ready-made library fr student review.
Of curse, it’s nt that simple. There are sme disadvantages f a flipped classrm. Just like in a regular classrm, success depends greatly n the quality f teachers, the clarity f cnversatins, and the quality f given curses, tests, and instructins. Further, fairness is still a majr issue, and it desn’t fix the utdated methd mst educatinal systems take t curses.
12. What des the flipped classrm feature?
A. Mre dependence n hbbies.B. Technlgy-assisted learning.
C. Parent-child cperatin.D. Less fcus n textbks.
13. What des the underlined wrd “reverse” mean in paragraph 3?
A. Research.B. Examine.C. Change.D. Shape.
14. What is the advantage f the flipped classrm?
A. It gives persnalized experiences.B. It develps creativity in students.
C. It builds trust amng peers.D. It simplifies learning steps.
15. Why is the flipped classrm criticized?
A. It fails t change teachers’ thinking.B. It hardly imprves students’ grades.
C. It causes unclear dialgues.D. It nly tuches the surface.
