Chinese scientists have created starch (淀粉), a type f cmplex carbhydrate fund in plants, using carbn dixide, hydrgen and electricity.
Experts say if such technique can be scaled-up (大规模) t the level f industrializatin, it may revlutinize hw this key nutrient and industrial ingredient is made, since it des nt require farming and prcessing a large quantity f starchy crps such as sweet ptates and crn, thus saving mre water, fertilizer, and arable land.

Cai Ta, ne f the first authrs f the study, says fr six years, his team has been fcusing n a single prject: hw t make starch, but d it at a higher speed. “The challenge is that the sunds headphne wearers hear need t syn (同步) with their visual senses. This means the neural algrithms must prcess sunds in under a hundredth f a secnd.” said senir authr Shyam Gllakta, a UW prfessr.
