As a yung persn, I never thught f myself as a sprts enthusiast because I was quite

Perhaps it is time fr farmers t put their feet up nw that rbts are used t inspect crps,
dig up weeds, and even have becme shepherds(牧羊人), t. Cmmercial grwing fields are
astrnmically huge and take thusands f man-hurs t perate. One prime example is ne f
Australia’s mst islated cattle statins, Suplejack Dwns in the Nrthern Territry, extending
acrss 4,000 square kilmeters, taking ver 13 hurs t reach by car frm the nearest majr twn
      — Alice Springs.
The extreme islatin f these massive farms leaves them ften unattended, and mnitred
nly nce r twice a year. which means if the livestck falls ill r requires assistance, it can be a
lng time fr farmers t discver.

      高二英语(6 月)学生学业能力调研试卷 第 5 页 共 14 页
enugh pasture fr them t graze n. The rbts are equipped with many sensrs t identify

“Yu’ ve als gt clr, texture and shape sensrs lking dwn at the grund t check

maintain large landscapes where animals ram free,” says Sukkarieh.
The rbts are nt limited t herding and mnitring livestck. They have been created t
cunt individual fruit, inspect crps, and even pull weeds.
Many rbts are equipped with high-tech sensrs and cmplex learning algrithms t
avid injuring humans as they wrk side by side. The rbts als learn the mst efficient and
safest passages, and allw engineers and farmers t analyze and better ptimize the attributes(特
质) and tasks f the rbt, as well as prvide a live stream giving real-time feedback n exactly
what is happening n the farms.
Of curse, sme wrry lies in replacing agricultural wrkers. Hwever, it is farmers that
are pushing fr the advancements due t ever-increasing labr vacancies, making it difficult t
      maintain large-scale peratins.
The rbts have prvided majr benefits t farmers in varius ways, frm hunting and
pulling weeds t mnitring the cnditin f every single fruit. Future farms will likely
experience a greater deal f autnmy as rbts take up mre and mre farm wrk efficiently.

A.Upgrade farm prduce. B.Enjy mre leisure hurs.
C.Mdify the genes f crps. D.Cut dwn farming csts.
      47.What will “farmbts” be expected t d?
A.Take up many f the farmers’ rutines. B.Prvide medical treatments fr livestck. C.Lead the trend in farming the wrld ver. D.Imprve the quality f pastures fr grazing.
      48. What can rbts d when equipped with high-tech sensrs and cmplex learning algrithms?

Shuld we fcus n ur gal, r n the prcess?
What happened t Brenda Martinez, a US Olympic runner, may prvide us with the answer.
She lst her balance in the 800-meter run and failed t qualify fr the Olympics. Instead f
fcusing n her failure, she prepared t win in the next race. “I just quickly let g f what
happened in the 800m and gt back t my rutine, t fcusing n all the little things I culd d
that wuld give me the best chance f running well later in the week,” she tld New Yrk
Magazine. She said it was this mindset that led t her winning third place in the 1500-meter race
abut a week later t qualify fr the Olympics in Ri. Instead f attaching herself t the gal f
making the Olympic team, she cncentrated n the prcess.
There is a prblem with setting gals. Researchers frm Harvard, the University f
Pennsylvania and Nrthwestern fund that veremphasizing gals based n measurable
      utcmes ften leads t risk-taking, unethical (不 道 德 的 ) behavir and reduced mtivatin.
Their results were published in a Harvard Business Schl reprt titled Gals Gne Wild: The
Systematic Side Effects f Over-Prescribing Gal Setting.
When yu becme verly fcused n achieving the gal, yu may lse sight f yur riginal
purpse fr accmplishing the gal in the first place. Anther danger is actually cmpleting the
gal withut setting a plan fr what’s next. Fr example, sme marathn runners experience
what’s called the “pst-race blues”. Achieving yur gal may cause yu t drp the gd habits
that gt yu there in the first place. Dieters ften experience this in what’s called “y-y dieting”
when they drp dwn t a desired weight, but then gain all the weight back when they resume
      (重新开始) their bad habits.
“After yu set a gal, it’s best t shift yur fcus frm the gal itself t the prcess that
gives yu the best chance f achieving it and t judge yurself based n hw well yu cmplete
that prcess,” clumnist Brad Stulberg wrte n the website The Cut.
Ultimately, changing yur attentin frm gals t prcess will cause yu t achieve little
victries n yur way t accmplishing lng-term gals. Amy Cuddy, a Harvard Business Schl
psychlgy prfessr, wrte that fcusing n this prcess “leaves yu with a sense f satisfactin
and accmplishment, regardless f the measurable utcme”.
51.Why is Brenda Martinez’s experience mentined in Paragraph 2?
A.T shw pprtunity favrs the prepared mind. B.T describe hw imprtant it is t set big gals.
C.T suggest learning frm failure can bring success.
D.T shw hw fcusing n the prcess can lead t success.
52.Accrding t Paragraph 3, veremphasizing gals culd bring abut________.
A.the use f unfair means B.ignring the whle picture
C.verestimating the setbacks D.being stressed by the risks invlved
53.With the examples in Paragraph 4, the authr intends t shw that________.
      A.we can’t fcus n the gal t much
B.we must keep in mind why we set the gal
C.we shuld resume ur habits when cmpleting the gal D.we shuld accept it is nrmal t feel dwn after success
54.What are the last tw paragraphs mainly abut?
