The cncept f chice blindness suggests that peple are nt always aware f their chices and preferences. It is a part f a cgnitive(认知的) phenmenn knwn as the intrspectin illusin(内省错觉). Essentially, peple incrrectly believe that they fully understand the rts f their emtins and thughts, yet believe that ther peple's intrspectins are largely unreliable.
In a pineering study n the cncept f chice blindness, researchers examined hw peple ften verlk differences between their intentins and utcmes. The study invlved having participants lk at images f tw different female faces fr between tw t five secnds. The participants then rated which face they fund the mst attractive. The researchers then changed the pht that the participants thught they had chsen t that f an entirely different wman, and the participants were asked t describe why they fund the wman attractive.
Surprisingly, nly 13% f the participants nticed the switch. In fact, many went n t describe the reasns why they fund the face attractive, even thugh it was nt the wman that they had chsen at all.
S why d s many peple fail t ntice these switches? Are we less aware f ur preferences than we think we are? Interest in the chice at hand is ne factr that might play a rle. When an issue is mre imprtant t us, we might be likely t ntice mismatches between what we chse and what we actually get. Additinally, the similarity f chices can have an effect—we may be less likely t ntice small differences when presented with a chice we did nt make.
The ability t recgnize faces plays a majr rle in ur everyday lives. While this kind f mistake may nt always be significant, there are times when it can be life-changing. B. They are unaware f their preferences.

D. They are presented with mre chices.
( )31. What des the authr intend t d in the last paragraph?

These sunds, Grh believes, may be caused when eye mvements stimulate the brain t cntract(收缩) either middle ear muscles, which typically help reduce lud sunds, r the hair cells that help strengthen quiet sunds.
The exact purpse f these ear nises is unclear, but Grh thinks it might make peple sharper when perceiving things. “We think this is part f a system that allws the brain t match up where sights and sunds are lcated, even thugh ur eyes can mve when ur head and ears d nt,” Grh said.
Understanding the relatinship between slight ear sunds and visin might lead t the develpment f new clinical(临床的) tests fr hearing. “If each part f the ear cntributes t individual rules fr the eardrum(耳膜) signal, then they culd be used as a type f clinical tl t judge which part f the ear fails t wrk nrmally,” said Stephanie Lvich, ne f the lead authrs f the paper and a graduate student in psychlgy and neurscience at Duke.

A. They culd vary with brain mvements.
B. They help cnnect the brain with sights.
C. They might imprve peple's perceptin.
D. They are prduced by muscle mvements.
( )35. What can we learn frm Stephanie Lvich's wrds?
