At first, she felt ashamed and uncmfrtable abut her birthmark. But after Maddie’s cmment, she began t accept it and realized everyne has smething special and different.

But when I turned my head, they lked away. On crwded buses and trains, it felt just like a disaster. With s many peple arund me, my birthmark burned red ht. 3 It was a cludy mrning. A new student named Maddie arrived in ur class. She sat right beside me. Instead f lking away, Maddie studied my face. This made me s nervus. Cluds came thrugh the windw and filled my heart. Suddenly, she said smething I wuld never frget.4 “Sally, right?” she said. “Yu have a red rse n yur face. Hw beautiful!”
5 I lked up and met her smiling eyes. Althugh I nly replied“thank yu”, it turned sunny in my heart. When I gt hme, I rushed t the bathrm and lked in the mirrr.
