After travelling mre than 470 millin kilmetres, Tianwen-1 reached the red planet n 10 February 2021. The craft circled arund the planet fr three mnths befre landing n the surface n 15 May. There, it released a 240-kilgram rver named Zhurng.During the next 100 days, Zhurng drve 1,000 metres n the planet’s surface and cntinued its travel. It tk phts f Mars and studied different kinds f rcks, and then it sent the infrmatin back t the Earth.The success f Tianwen-1 is nly the beginning f China’s Mars explratin prgramme.
