If yu speak mre than ne language, yu may have had the experiences f them mixed in yur sleep. But hw and why d ur brains cme up with these multilingual (多语言的) dreams and culd they have an impact n ur real-life language skills?

It’s during sleep that the integratin (整合) f ld and new knwledge happens. During the day, ur hippcampus, which specializes in absrbing infrmatin quickly, takes in new wrds. Des all this mean we can easily learn a language in ur sleep, as lng as we play a language lessn all night lng? Nt necessarily. “It might actually backfire, by disturbing yur rest,” Krma says. He als pints ut that in the study, peple learned the wrds much faster when they were awake than when they were asleep: “It’s mre effective when yu’re awake. Wakefulness is gd fr learning, and sleep is mre t replay, nt fr new language getting,” Krma adds. “It’s an interactive prcess, which means that yu learn during the day, and during sleep yu prcess this infrmatin, build up sme f yur memries, and try t put it in new cntexts.”
Krma further explains the practical significance f his research. “The best way t d it is prbably t learn a new language befre ging t sleep, and then play sme f the wrds yu just heard, while being asleep,” says Krma. “Here the results are mstly that if yu play them quietly enugh, it will imprve yur learning abilities. But if yu play it t ludly, it will actually bring dwn yu learning ability. S there is sme fine-tuning.”

Eighty-six percent f all 4,955 mullet caught during the study perid came frm their interactins at the same time—when the allies rganized their actins perfectly with ne anther.
The study als revealed dlphins hunting with humans had a 13 percent increase in survival rate ver ther dlphins.
