Sitting alne in the crner f the classrm, Jack stared blankly at his script, his head hanging lw. Seeing his depressin, we gathered arund him, cmfrting him. With ur supprt surrunding him, the heavy atmsphere began t lift. Suddenly, inspiratin struck me—we culd adapt the script t include his injury! Faces brightening with excitement, the grup instantly cheered in agreement, their lively chatter and laughter filling the classrm. With the stryline skillfully mdified, we practiced tirelessly, Jack's crutches becming a meaningful symbl in the play, his cnfidence grwing as we were ready fr the upcming perfrmance.
When the perfrmance day finally arrived, Jack als std n stage n crutches. Thugh his injured leg trembled slightly, he held his head high, his bright smile lighting up his face as he scanned the cheering crwd. We acted ut the drama, and ur vices rang ut with excitement, each line filled with ur shared effrt. After the perfrmance, the audience’s applause thundered thrugh the hall, lasting and warm. “I culdn’t have dne this withut yu,” Jack said emtinally, his eyes shining. She decided t wash them, fix them and dnate them t children in the University Hspital f Caracas. S, a few mnths later, Gluck pened the Hspital fr Sft Tys. It is a nnprfit fundatin that als cllects and repairs ther tys. The fundatin receives dnatins that include schl supplies, shes and fd. Silvia Heiber has vlunteered fr almst three years. She said that smthing a sft ty’s fur r fixing a dll’s hair is helpful fr the vlunteers. “By ding this, all f us wh cme here are in therapy, a kind f therapy based n supprting ne anther,” Heiber said. On sme days, it seems there are nt enugh tys t repair. But then smene arrives at the dr with mre bxes and bags full f tys. The tys are delivered nt nly t hspitals and schls in pr areas, but als t hmes fr lder peple.
