While many artists fear AI's grwing rle in creative fields, Canadian-Chinese artist Michelle Lee sees it as a new way f reimagining art. Thrugh her grundbreaking DOUG rbt scries, Lee transfrms technical errrs and unpredictable machine behavir int cllabrative (合作的) artistry, prving Al can enhance — nt replace — human creativity.
Lee's jurney began in 2015, with DOUG 1, a rbt designed t cpy her brushstrkes. Instead f perfect cpies, its shaky lines, uneven marks became celebrated features. “Peticizing errr taught me that mistakes can lighten new ideas," she says.
In 2017, DOUG 2 was trained n Lee's past artwrks, and this Al-pwered rbt generated riginal paintings. At a Lndn exhibit, Lee c-signed pieces as "Lee-DOUG2," symblizing jint authrship. Later, DOUG 3 used New Yrk City street camera data, tracking traffic and crwds, t guide rbt mvements, turning city rhythms int dynamic pictures.
By 2024, DOUG 4 translated Lee's brainwaves int brushstrkes. Relaxed states prduced flwing patterns; fcused mments created sharp digital lines. At Davs 2025, the six rbtic arms painted live using her brain activity, painting the Swiss Alps with Chinese ink.
Albert H, an architect at the City Cllege f New Yrk wh has studied the ways that humans and machines influence each ther's actins and behavirs, sees Lee's wrk as ffering a different stry abut human-machine interactins. "We ften get stuck in this mindset f Al cmpeting with humans, and which ne's better," he says. "Al is ften characterized in the media and mvies as enemy t human -- smething that can replace us r, even wrse, becme destructive. In Lee's wrks, I think, it's n lnger abut cmpetitin, but c-prductin."
As generative Al raises cncerns abut stlen artwrk, Lee said, "Artificial intelligence relies n human data, shaped by human preference, and it impacts human experiences in turn. Behind these technlgies, there's a lt f wrk and stuff that ges int making them. Art is a place where we can lk int and shw wh's really in charge."
      24. What is the main fcus f the text?
      A. Impact f generative Al n art. B. Cperatin f human and Al in art.
      C. Develpment f Al art creativity. D. Relatinship between artists and rbts.
      25. What did Lee gain frm DOUG 1?
      A. Its errrs influenced her chice f art surces.
      B. Its mvements inspired her enthusiasm fr art.
      C. Its cpies changed her way t train later rbts.
      D. Its utcmes transfrmed her view f the rbts' rle.
26.What des Albert Hu think f Lee's wrk?
      A. It restricts the traditinal mindset f Al
      B. It predicts the trend fr c-wrk with AL.
      C. It challenges the previus view f Al and human.
      D. It cnfirms the directin f future art develpment.
      27. What des Lee's wrds imply in the last paragraph?
      A. Al remains human-driven. B.AI is a preferred partner.
      C. Al is essential fr future art. D. Al wrks as a reliable tl.

Have yu ever tried relaxing n a sunny beach, but yur brain's still stuck wrrying? That's because ur brain tends t fcus n the bad stuff. This is called "negativity bias (偏见)", which helped ur ancestrs handle ptential threats but nw ften traps us in cycles f verthinking.
Psychlgist Rick Hampsn ffers a science-backed slutin in his bk called Hardwiring Happiness. He explains that psitive mments rarely leave a lasting mark unless we deliberately engage with them. This is where neurplasticity, which means ur brain can change and adapt based n what we d and think, cmes in.
Hampsn's research, beginning in the mid-2000s, started explring hw t use brain science t create lasting psitive changes in the brain. By nticing and hlding nt gd experiences, we can activate ur brain's reward centers and prmte psitive changes. Althugh the sample size was small and lacked a cntrl grup, participants reprted statistically feeling better, with imprvements lasting up t tw mnths. Then the HEAL methd (Have a gd experience, Enrich it, Absrb it, Link it t ther experiences) was finally develped.
Research shws that practices like mindfulness meditatin (冥想) can be linked t changes in brain structure and functin. Meditatin and ther thughtful practices can prmte neurplasticity. Hampsn als pints ut that scial cnnectins and feeling safe can reduce stress. He suggests that when we slw dwn and take a mment t feel clse t friends, we're changing ur brain fr the better.
The real prf f Hampsn's apprach lies in daily practice. He encurages peple t engage in“mental hygiene" practices, which can be mtivated by understanding hw these activities benefit the brain. By asking urselves if we're a little happier, wiser, and mre lving at the end f the day, we can take cntrl f ur well-being.
In shrt, Hardwiring Happiness syncretizes brain science and practical daily habits. Fr thse interested in transfrming their well-being thrugh science-backed methds, Hampsn's bk prvides valuable insights and techniques that can be easily integrated int everyday rutines. By explring Hardwiring Happiness, yu can discver mre abut the science f happiness and learn practical techniques t enhance well-being.
      28. What is the riginal functin f “negativity bias" ?

Deep underneath the eastern trpical Pacific Ocean lies beautiful reefs clred by its algae (藻类). Hwever, in the early 1980s, an El Niñ heatwave led t mass-bleaching, which turned mre than 90 percent f these crals a pale, lifeless white.
When strnger El Niñ events struck the area again in 2015-2016, bilgist Tina Palaci bserved a surprising phenmenn: sme crals resisted bleaching r shwed recvery. Her team later discvered that Pcillpra — the regin's primary reef-building cral —had gtten rid f their riginal algae and adpted heat-tlerant species.
Crals typically prvide nitrgen (氮气) t their resident algae and receive carbn in return fr energy. "T maintain the algae's survival and prvide the nutrients required by the hst, there's a really delicate and very cmplex nutritinal relatinship between the tw," Palaci says. Under heat stress, crals prduce mre nitrgen, which causes the algae t grw rapidly and divide mre, string the carbn and keeping it frm their hsts. Palaci discvered that baby crals has learned nt t vershare nitrgen with the algae. This way, they can live tgether harmniusly. And baby crals aren't stuck in ne place - they flat freely in the cean befre settling dwn. This helps the species mve t better waters r spread genes that let them handle heat.
Researchers als fund crals can act n their wn. They have tiny hair-like structures called cilia that wrk like a cling system, beating fast t make tiny whirlpls (漩涡) in the water and mving extra xygen t areas that need it. These whirlpls stp xygen frm building up harmfully in ne place.
Althugh crals are adapting, they can't utpace climate threats alne. It's hard t g back after a bleaching event and see them dead. That gives us the mtivatin t use whatever skill is, whatever ur passin is, t try t help.
      32. Why des the authr mentin El Niñ heatwaves twice?
      A. T stress the urgency f cean cnservatin.
      B. T shw the crals' adaptatin t heatwaves.
      C. T indicate the impact f climate change n crals.
      D. T highlight the relatinship between crals and algae.
      33. What d baby crals d t live with their algae?
      A. Sharing mre carbn.
      B. Remving mre algae.
      C. Mving t cler areas.
      D. Reserving extra nitrgen.
      34. Hw d cral cilia functin ?
      A. By string extra xygen.
      B. By redistributing xygen.
      C. By releasing xygen quickly.
      D. By changing xygen int nitrgen.
      35. What message des the authr want t cnvey?
      A. Cral bleaching calls fr human prtectin.
      B. Humans need mre passin t prtect cean species.
      C. Cral prtectin is ur duty despite its self-adjustment.
      D. Cral adaptatin is unavidable in spite f humans' help.
