      Sal fund himself lking at her weathered shes and faded cat. He was mved by her situatin, saying, “These fresh birds are expensive, but the day befre Thanksgiving, we mark them dwn t half‐ff.” Margaret’s eyes lit up and she said, “Then I’ll see yu the day befre Thanksgiving.”
      As Turkey Day crept clser, Sal nticed his fresh birds selling much faster than usual. The birds wuld surely run ut befre the big day. He knew it wuld take a special Thanksgiving act f kindness t make sure Margaret gt ne. S, he tk ne ut f the case and hid it in the freezer in the back.
      On the day befre Thanksgiving, Margaret shwed up t see if any fresh turkeys remained. Sal marched t the back and brught her the ne he had saved. Delighted, Margaret headed fr the checkut. But the grcery stre manager didn’t knw abut Sal’s Thanksgiving act f kindness, warning him that he’d brken the rules by string a fresh turkey in the back freezer.
