Engineers at Deakin University have develped a new smart generatin schlbag that will end the days when
students end up frgetting their hmewrk, particularly since the smart schlbag is capable f cmpleting its wn
      mrning checklist.
Accrding t a recent press release, the smart schlbag cmes with built-in hardware and sftware that wrks
t ensure it is packed crrectly fr each day’s timetable, including lunch and sprts equipment.
The bag was designed by Dr Hamid Abdi alngside Masters students at Deakin University. It uses Radi
Frequency Identificatin (RFID) tags (标签) t detect items in the bag and Internet f Things (IOT) technlgy,
which extends Internet cnnectivity t everyday bjects. “RFID technlgy allws any user t detect items in the
bag in a cntactless way,” Dr Abdi says. The Internet f Things (IOT) technlgy is emplyed t check its cntents
against the daily schl plan. Schls r parents can enter data abut the activities f each day t the system’s IOT
server. The server then links these activities t the RFID tags placed n the items needed. The smart schl-bag can
tell what items are nt required, ensuring that the bag is n heavier than it needs t be.
The smart schlbag will save a lt f time and stress that ccurs when hmewrk, hats r lunches are left
hme by mistake, especially if that requires parents t quickly race hme t cllect the missing item.
While the system can be fitted t any schlbag, the team have designed a sample f the smart schlbag that
includes the smartphne applicatin. Dr Abdi and his team are lking fr cmmercial partners t take the prject
      t the next level.
      28. Why d the engineers develp the smart schlbag?
      A. T give a mrning call. B. T help hmewrk crrecting.
      C. T reduce study pressure. D. T remind pupils f schl items.
      29. What des Paragraph 3 mainly tell us abut the smart schlbag?
      A. Its applicatin. B. Its wrking principle.
      C. Its advantage. D. Its characteristics.
      30. What des Dr Abdi expect f the smart schlbag?
      A. I’ll replace parental duties. B. I’ll ensure academic prgress.
      C. I’ll reach cnsumers sn. D. I’ll be envirnment-friendly.
      31. Which f the fllwing wuld be the best title fr the text?

In the days befre the Internet, critical (批判性的) thinking was the mst imprtant skill f well-educated
peple. But in the digital age, accrding t Anastasia Kzyreva, a scial scientist at the Max Planck Institute f
Human Develpment, an even mre imprtant skill is “critical ignring”.
As the researchers pint ut, we live in an attentin ecnmy where cntent prducers n the Internet cmpete
(竞争) fr ur attentin. They attract us with a lt f emtinal and eye-catching stries while prviding little
useful infrmatin, s they can expse (暴露) us t mney-making advertisements. Therefre, we are n lnger
custmers but prducts, and each link we click is a sale f ur time and attentin. T prtect urselves frm this,
Kzyreva calls fr learning the skill f critical ignring, in which readers cntrl their infrmatin envirnment n
purpse t reduce expsure t false and lw-quality infrmatin.
Accrding t Kzyreva, critical ignring includes three strategies. The first is t design ur envirnments,
which invlves getting rid f the lw-quality yet hard-t-resist (抵制) infrmatin frm arund. Successful dieters
need t keep unhealthy fd ut f their hmes. Similarly, we need t set up a digital envirnment where
attentin-grabbing items are kept ut f sight. As with dieting, if ne tries t depend n willpwer nt t click
eye-catching “news”, he’ll surely fail. S, it's better t just keep them ut f sight in the beginning.
The next is t make a judgement abut whether the infrmatin is reliable, s that yu can be prtected frm
false and misleading infrmatin. It can be realized by checking the surce in the tp news media which is widely
      cnsidered as being trustwrthy.
The last ges by the phrase “d nt feed the trlls”. Trlls are actrs wh spread false and hurtful infrmatin
nline n purpse t cause harm. It may be appealing t respnd t them t set the facts straight, but trlls just care
abut annying thers rather than facts. S, it’s best nt t reward their bad behaviur with ur attentin.
By imprving ur critical ignring skills in these ways, we can make the mst f the Internet while aviding
being hurt by thse wh try t cntrl ur attentin, time, and minds.
      32. What is “critical ignring”?
      A. The prcess f sptting and analyzing pr quality data.
      B. The skill f nt paying attentin t nline infrmatin.
      C The ability t analyze infrmatin t cme t a cnclusin.
      D. The art f chsing what infrmatin yu let int yur life.
      33. Why des the authr mentin dieters in paragraph 3?
      第 7页/共 12页
      A. T discuss the quality f infrmatin. B. T prve the benefits f healthy fd.
      C. T shw the imprtance f envirnments. D. T explain the effectiveness f willpwer.
      34. What shuld we d t deal with Internet trlls accrding t the text?
      A. Expse their intentin. B. Turn a deaf ear t them.
      C. Crrect their behaviur. D. Send hard facts t them.
      35. What is the text mainly abut?
      A. Imprtance f critical ignring in nline search.
      B. Ways t practice critical ignring in the digital age.
      C. Benefits f critical ignring in the attentin ecnmy.
      D. Strategies t imprve critical thinking amng nline users.
      第二节 (共 5 小题;每小题 2.5 分,满分 12.5 分)
      阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Whether things g right r wrng, feedback is always necessary. ____36____ Hwever, prviding effective
feedback is nt easy, as it typically requires several cmpnents. Nw let’s examine each f them.
Start n a psitive nte. Cnstructive criticism shuld always start n a psitive nte. It feels unfair and rude if
smene tells yu everything yu did wrng withut acknwledging yur achievements. S when giving feedback
dn’t just nte the mistakes the receivers have made. ____37____
Be specific. Effective feedback needs t be specific. Infrm the receivers precisely what aspects require
imprvement s they can identify and address thse areas. Fr example, dn’t say, “Yur presentatin was unclear. ”
Instead, say smething like, “The intrductin f yur presentatin was a bit cnfusing. ____38____ ” This way,
the receiver knws exactly what t cncentrate n and can make mre targeted imprvements.
____39____ The whle pint f feedback is t help smene make changes fr the better. S yu shuld
prvide ideas n hw t imprve. It’s crucial, hwever, t ensure that yur ideas are actinable. Fr instance, “Yu
need t wrk n yur cmmunicatin skills” sunds t general. It wuld be much better if yu say, “Try
practicing active listening and summarizing what thers say t ensure yu understand them fully. ”
Be timely. ____40____ It nly wrks if it happens very clse t an issue arising. Fr example, say yu’re with
a cwrker and ntice smething in the sales pitch he is wrking n. Instead f waiting fr him t run int
prblems, prvide the feedback right away. This gives the receiver the chance t make changes and avid prblems.
      A. Offer practical advice.
      B. Fcus n making changes.
      第 8页/共 12页
      C. It helps us learn frm ur mistakes and grw.
      D. It lacks a clear tpic sentence at the beginning.
      E. Feedback isn’t f much use if it cmes t late.
      F. The feedback acknwledges the hard wrk the persn did.
      G. Instead, begin by recgnizing their effrt and what they gt right.
