“There is n way I can live ut f a suitcase!” I thught as we packed up ur hme in Venice, Italy. At furteen years ld, I culdn’t imagine leaving my friends, schl, and all my “stuff” behind t travel the wrld full-time with my family. That was when my mm had the idea f drpping everything t travel the wrld and create a deeper cnnectin between family members. Althugh I abslutely lved the idea f traveling the wrld freely, I culdn’t imagine leaving my life behind.
T my surprise, during the travel, we have learned the mst imprtant mments are when we live happy mments with ur family and friends. As we travel, we barely carry anything with us except the essential things like clthes, a laptp, ntebks, and tiletries (洗漱用品). We each carry a backpack and all five f us share tw suitcases fr clthes. After buying new suvenirs r new clthes, we give sme f ur ld utfits away t peple in need and it makes us s happy t be able t give back wherever we can.
At the beginning, it was difficult fr us t get used t never having a clset (衣橱), cnstantly changing htel rms, and never fully unpacking befre we were back n the rad. But ver time we have learned t appreciate the value f having less — the freedm t live fr experiences and the jy f traveling “light” in mind, bdy, and spirit. Many f the wnderful new friends we have made n ur jurney have pened ur eyes t hw lucky we are. We have met families in many parts f the wrld wh live in small hmes with n running water, yet they always have huge smiles and are willing t share with us.
We nw knw that experiences and memries are the mst valuable things in life and that they can nly be acquired when we let g f ur need fr pssessins and fcus n what really matters in life — enjying ur lives each day with the peple we lve.
24.What was the authr’s initial feeling abut the idea f traveling the wrld?
      A.Anxius and fearful.B.Interested but dubtful.
      C.Pleased and excited.D.Cnfused but hpeful.
25.Why did the authr’s mm decide t travel the wrld?
A.T build strnger family bnds.B.T escape their current life.
C.T enrich their travel experiences.D.T ease the wrk pressure.
26.What did the family d with their ld clthes after acquiring new nes?
A.They directly threw them away.B.They kept them as suvenirs.
C.They dnated them t peple in need.D.They exchanged them with lcal residents.
27.What can be inferred frm the last paragraph?
A.We shuld let g f every single pssessin.
B.Material wealth and pssessins bring happiness.
C.The family used t place t much emphasis n wealth.
D.Material pssessins shuld nt be ur ultimate gal.

“There are between 10 and 50 billin ptentially habitable wrlds in ur galaxy”, says Bill Diamnd. He is the chief executive f the US based research rganizatin Seti (Search fr Extraterrestrial Intelligence). “Seti is lking fr science and technlgy beynd the slar system as the evidence f life and intelligence, and that’s by and large a needle in a haystack prblem,” Mr Diamnd says. “We’re lking fr smething that is likely exceedingly rare and may be very difficult t find and extract frm the backgrund phenmena that yu’re bserving at the same time.”
But the ability f AI t bth handle massive datasets and t spt anmalies (异常现象) is transfrming the hunt fr alien intelligence. Mr Diamnd pints t AI enabling the search fr new types f radi signals frm aliens. Traditinally, Seti has lked fr narrwband (窄频的) signals like thse used by humans. “But there was always the questin, ‘What if there’s an alien advanced technlgy that is using wideband radi?’ And if that’s the case, ur traditinal methds wuldn’t wrk; it wuld lk like a bunch f nise n the screen.” Hwever, Mr Diamnd says that the ability f AI t handle massive amunts f data means it’s pssible t take millins f “snapshts” f the snwy audi picture ver time, and t start t lk fr patterns.
Researcher Peter Ma develped an AI system t examine telescpe data and distinguish between pssible alien signals and interference. His team simulated bth types f nise and trained the AI t identify them. Mr Ma says that an alien signal can, fr example, nly appear when we pint ur telescpes at it and disappear when we pint away. The prject has already identified eight ptential alien signals that went undetected by traditinal analysis. Hwever, Mr Ma believes that as the bservatins haven’t yet been repeated, they are prbably false psitives.
It’s early days, and any prmising results generated by AI need t be cnfirmed by ther bservatins, r by physics-based mdels, befre they can be shuted frm the rftps. But as mre and mre data are cllected and analyzed, the chances f detecting alien life — if it exits — are increasing all the time.
28.What des Mr Diamnd stress in Paragraph 1?
A.The ambitin t explre the slar system.B.The challenge f sptting aliens.
      C.The existence f alien intelligence.D.The capability f artificial intelligence.
29.What des Mr Diamnd want t prve by mentining “wideband radi” in Paragraph 2?
A.The high IQ f aliens.B.The deafening narrwband signal surces.
C.The ptential fr the applicatin f AI.D.The ccurrence f new patterns.
30.What will Mr Ma depend n t judge his discvery?
      A.The repetitive signals.B.The identified data.
      C.The simulated nise.D.The cnventinal analysis.
31.What des the underlined sentence in the last paragraph mean?
A.Befre they can be imitated by physiclsts.B.Befre they can be talked abut privately.
C.Befre they can be cnfirmed under bservatin.D.Befre they can be made public.
      D
Human beings eat a lt f fish. Glbally, seafd is a $500 billin industry and cnsumptin has mre than dubled in the last half a century. But the ceans are nt an unlimited resurce, and seafd cnsumers are increasingly cncerned abut verfishing, marine pllutin, and the fishing industry’s pr human rights recrd.
Netflix’s hit anti-fishing dcumentary Seaspiracy shcked many peple int rethinking their seafd cnsumptin. Althugh sme marine scientists questin the film’s claims that there is n such thing as a sustainable fishing industry and we culd run ut f fish in 2048, there is n denying that the film des have its impact, with quite a few viewers cutting dwn n fish r cutting it ut altgether.
With mre peple than ever turning vegan, meat-free meat is nw big business. Fish-free fish seems t fllw. Vegan seafd prducts are fund n supermarket shelves mimicking dishes frm fish and chips t canned tuna. Fake fish currently accunts fr nly abut 1% f the entire alternative-meat industry. But what began as a tiny cttage industry serving a bming market is expanding rapidly. In 2018, Lndn’s Suttn & Sns became the first UK chippy t ffer vegan fish and chips. Since then, the wrld has seen a surge in demand fr fish-free fdstuffs. In 2017, nly 29 cmpanies in the wrld prduced alt-seafd prducts. Nw there are mre than 80, with seafd giants and multinatinals mving in t claim their territry.
Mst f the fake marine life n sale nw is vegetable r fungi-based. Seafds’ unique structures and distinctive flavrs are difficult t veganize cnvincingly. But by experimenting with new recipes and technlgies, it is pssible t simulate its tastes and textures with varying degrees f success. Much f the innvatin invlves repurpsing plants in unexpected ways. Fr instance, Ahimi, made by US firm Ocean Hugger Fd are tmat-based sashimi (生鱼片) substitutes. Meanwhile, Califrnia’s Sphie’s Kitchen uses a fibrus Asian rt vegetable t create ‌“tuna”, French manufacturer Odntella SAS ffers artificial smked salmn made frm tfu and peas and Swedish retailer Ikea sells vegan caviar (鱼子酱) made frm seaweed.
Mst fake fish prducts, f curse, are unlikely t fl anyne. Fr thse wh never mind their smelling and tasting like n creature that ever swims in any sea, they are great. But fr sme cnsumers, nly genuine fish flesh will d. Luckily, technlgy prmises t ffer an cean-friendly alternative. Lab-grwn fish meat, cultivated in a vessel called a bireactr, prmises the real thing withut animal cruelty r the envirnmental tll f industrial fishing. Sme agriculture cmpanies are already prducing lab-grwn salmn, bluefin tuna, shrimp, lbster and crab. But it’s a slw, expensive prcess and businesses are still figuring ut hw t prduce seafd prfitably.
32.What d we knw abut Seaspiracy?
A.It has arused a heated debate amng marine scientists.
B.It’s a ppular dcumentary advcating seafd cnsumptin.
C.It calls fr a sustainable fishing industry as fish is running ut.
D.It has nticeable effects n the viewers’ cnsuming habits.
33.What’s the main idea f the third paragraph?
A.The ppularity f fake fish is limited t a tiny part f the wrld.
B.Fake fish industry is develping fast glbally due t grwing demand.
C.Meat-free meat is nw big business with mre peple turning vegan.
D.Seafd giants and multinatinals are prducing fish-free fdstuffs.
34.What des the underlined wrd ‌“simulate” in the furth paragraph prbably mean?
      A.replaceB.imitateC.uncverD.increase
35.Accrding t the passage, wh is mst likely t buy lab-grwn salmn?
A.A millinaire wh enjys fish-free fdstuffs.
B.A vegan wh is in favr f alt-seafd prducts.
C.A fish-flesh lver wh cares fr the envirnment.
D.An envirnmentalist wh is picky abut his diet.

While cntrlling all factrs may be challenging, teachers can manage the materials n classrm walls t reduce distractins (分散注意力的事)。
37 A student’s wrking memry prcesses visual and verbal (口头的) infrmatin. T many psters, regulatins, r infrmatin surces can verlad a student’s wrking memry, making it difficult t fcus and prcess infrmatin.
38 The average preschl is verladed with labels, lists, and rules, which can decrease children’s ability t fcus and learn. Decratins are smetimes mistaken fr quality. Experts pint ut that reading and writing perfrmances are particularly affected by levels f stimulatin, while math benefits frm student-centered and persnalized classrm designs. Invlving students in designing their learning space can give them a sense f wnership and pride. 39
The clr f the classrm is anther critical factr. Red and range can make students feel nervus, while blue and green are calming. Yunger children may respnd well t bright clrs like yellw, but lder students benefit frm light shades f blue and green.
