The number f babies brn in Japan last year fell t a new lw fr an eighth straight year, gvernment data (数据) shws. Besides, the number f marriages cntinues t drp.
It was reprted Tuesday that 758, 631 babies were brn in Japan in 2023. That shwed an abut 5. 1 percent decline (下降) frm the year earlier. It was the lwest number f births since Japan started recrding the statistics (统计) in 1899.
The number f marriages fell by 5. 9 percent t489, 281 cuples, falling belw a half-millin fr the first time in 90 years. Fewer marriages are ne f the reasns fr fewer births. Having children utside f marriage is hard t see in the East Asian cuntry.
