A student in Rasgn’s lab nticed that male msquites wuld smetimes feed n bld in a tray cvered by a thin artificial membrane (人工膜) when researchers tk away water. Rasgn wanted t knw if thirsty males wuld try t get bld frm a persn, s he stuck his hand in cages cntaining male msquites. Hydrated males mstly ignred him, but dehydrated males wuld land and examine his skin. One even bit him but hardly gt int the first layer f the skin. “I was shcked,” says Rasgn.
