A 13-year-ld American by has becme the first persn ever t beat the ppular vide game Tetris (俄罗斯方块). The yung gamer, Willis Gibsn, cmpleted 157 levels befre the game technically gave in. Gibsn lives in Oklahma and ges by the gaming name “Blue Scuti”. He repeatedly shuted “Oh my Gd” as he beat the game. “I can’t feel my fingers,” Gibsn said.
Gaming experts had lng cnsidered Tetris unbeatable. It came ut in 1984 and quickly became a wrldwide favrite. Its creatr, Alexey Pajitnv, was a cmputer engineer at the Russian Academy f Sciences. The blcks fall faster as players prgress thrugh higher levels.
Gibsn reached level 157 and drpped a final piece int place. This caused a single line f blcks t disappear and the game t enter a permanent (永久的) freeze. “This is staggering,” Vince Clemente, CEO f Classic Tetris Wrld Champinship, said. “Develpers didn’t think anyne wuld ever make it that far and nw the game has been beaten by a human being.”

Tens f millins f bees are likely being killed each day by vehicles in the western United States, a new study finds. The paper published in Sustainable Envirnment is the first t shw hw cars may be causing the lss f bees. Bees are imprtant because they help pllinate (传粉) wild plants and a third f the wrld’s crps.
Scientists have studied the “insect disaster” by cunting dead insects alng radsides. Mst studies have fcused n frests and larger insects. But bee diversity (多样性) is greatest in dry, pen areas, and mst bees are tiny — just 2 t 25 millimeters lng.
A research team frm Utah State University studied bee deaths by driving n highways, paved rads, and unpaved rads during the day when bees are active. They made 29 trips arund Utah in spring and summer, traveling mre than 9,334 kilmeters, and identified bees that were hit by cars. Every trip resulted in at least ne bee death, and they fund 14 different species.
The researchers guessed that ne car driving between Salt Lake City and Mab might kill 50 t 175 bees. Based n traffic data, that means several millin bees are killed when 94,000 cars travel that rute each day. The startup’s funders were inspired by a UK cmpany that uses this type f technlgy in the medical field and decided t see if it was applicable fr fd. “I lked at the challenges in the fd-supply chain and fund ut that 40 percent f fd waste is fresh prduce.
