Njbati, a yung wman frm Camern, faced a challenging jurney when she mved frm her English-speaking area t a French-speaking area f the cuntry t attend university. The sharp differences between these areas, nce part f the British and French empires, made it difficult fr her t fit in, which led her t examine her wn identity—wh she truly was.

Macquarie Island is a tiny island that’s part f Australia. It’s abut halfway between New Zealand and Antarctica. The island’s been made a wrld heritage area because it’s s untuched, but this unique envirnment is under threat frm sme unwanted visitrs.
It all started when seal hunters came t the island in the early 1800s. They brught rabbits with them as a surce f fd fr the jurney, and als n bard the ships were rats and mice, which made their way nt the island t. They’re being blamed fr destrying the hmes f marine birds, causing sil lss and ripping up plant cver, as these befre-and-after phts shw.
S what’s being dne abut the prblem? It starts with a team f helicpters that fly acrss the island carrying these giant cntainers. Inside them are pisned pellets (有毒饲料) which are drpped and spread acrss the island. Fr any rabbits that survived the baiting (诱饵) , there’s a plan B. This special team f dgs is being put thrugh a final training. It’ll be their jb t track dwn any remaining rabbits. They have t als learn t behave arund the island’s native wildlife. The dgs culd be here fr years r until the task is cmplete. The dgs dn’t actually kill the rabbits. They find them, then the hunters decide t either catch the rabbits r sht them.
But the prgram has received a bit f criticism. Sme peple argue 25 millin dllars is a lt f mney t be spending n wiping ut rabbits and rdents (啮齿目动物), and in the prcess, sme native birds will be killed because f the baiting.

Njbati, a yung wman frm Camern, faced a challenging jurney when she mved frm her English-speaking area t a French-speaking area f the cuntry t attend university. The sharp differences between these areas, nce part f the British and French empires, made it difficult fr her t fit in, which led her t examine her wn identity—wh she truly was.
Seeking guidance, she turned t her grandfather wh als felt discnnected frm his wn culture. He expressed sadness abut what the Ns had lst bth culturally and materially, including Ngnns statue. Ngnns was the funder f Ns dating back t the 14th Century, whse statue was an imprtant cultural symbl fr the Ns. Hwever, it was taken by the Germans in 1902 and has been hused in Berlin’s Ethnlgical Museum ever since.

Macquarie Island is a tiny island that’s part f Australia. It’s abut halfway between New Zealand and Antarctica. The island’s been made a wrld heritage area because it’s s untuched, but this unique envirnment is under threat frm sme unwanted visitrs.
It all started when seal hunters came t the island in the early 1800s. They brught rabbits with them as a surce f fd fr the jurney, and als n bard the ships were rats and mice, which made their way nt the island t. They’re being blamed fr destrying the hmes f marine birds, causing sil lss and ripping up plant cver, as these befre-and-after phts shw.
S what’s being dne abut the prblem? It starts with a team f helicpters that fly acrss the island carrying these giant cntainers. Inside them are pisned pellets (有毒饲料) which are drpped and spread acrss the island. Fr any rabbits that survived the baiting (诱饵) , there’s a plan B. This special team f dgs is being put thrugh a final training. It’ll be their jb t track dwn any remaining rabbits. They have t als learn t behave arund the island’s native wildlife. The dgs culd be here fr years r until the task is cmplete. The dgs dn’t actually kill the rabbits. They find them, then the hunters decide t either catch the rabbits r sht them.
But the prgram has received a bit f criticism. Sme peple argue 25 millin dllars is a lt f mney t be spending n wiping ut rabbits and rdents (啮齿目动物), and in the prcess, sme native birds will be killed because f the baiting.
