It means that next year’s cnference in Pland is set fr a majr shwdwn (最后的决战) n the future f fssil fuels.
This meeting, knwn as COP23, was tasked with clarifying cmplex peratinal issues arund the wrkings (工作方式,运动方式) f the Paris Climate Agreement. One f the mst imprtant elements was the develpment f a prcess that wuld help cuntries t review and increase their prmises t cut carbn. Fiji, hlding the presidency f this meeting, prpsed what’s being called the Talana Dialgue.
Over the next year, a series f discussins will take place t help cuntries lk at the prmises they have made under the Paris Pact (巴黎协定).
“A key part in Pland is this Talana Dialgue, t make sure it desn’t result in just a talk shw,” said Yamide Dagnet with the Wrld Resurces Institute. “In Pland, ministers say they will increase their actins, s that we end up with natinal plans that will be a much mre ambitius set f climate actins.”
Threatening ver these discussins in Bnn was the questin f cal, il and gas. US cal and nuclear cmpanies rganised a presentatin here arguing that fssil fuels shuld be a key part f the slutin t rising temperatures.

Livestreaming (直播) thrugh channels such as Amazn Live and QVC is an increasingly ppular way t sell gds nline. It usually lasts between 5 and 10 minutes, and smene prmtes a prduct. Viewers can then readily buy it by clicking n a link.
We analyzed (分析) 99,451 sales cases n a livestream selling platfrm and matched them with actual sales cases. In terms f time, that is equal t ver 2 millin 30-secnd televisin advertisements.
T determine the emtinal expressin f the salespersn, we used tw deep learning mdels: a face mdel and an emtin mdel. The face mdel discvers the presence r absence f a face in a frame f a vide stream. The emtin mdel then determines the prbability that a face is exhibiting any f the six basic human emtins: happiness, sadness, surprise, anger, fear r disgust. Fr example, smiling signals a high prbability f happiness, while an ff-putting expressin usually pints tward anger.
We wanted t see the effect f emtins expressed at different times in the sales cases s we cunted prbabilities fr each emtin fr all 62 millin frames in ur database. We then cmbined these prbabilities with ther pssible aspects that might drive sales—such as price and prduct characteristics—t judge the effect f emtin.
We fund that, perhaps unsurprisingly, when salespeple shw mre negative emtins—such as anger and disgust—the vlume f sales went dwn. But we als fund that a similar thing happened when the salespeple shw high levels f psitive emtins, such as happiness r surprise.
A likely explanatin, based n ur research, is that smiling can be disgusting because it lacks true feelings and can reduce trust in the seller. A seller’s happiness may be taken as a sign that the seller is gaining interests at the custmer’s expense.
      28. What can we knw abut the livestreaming t sell gds nline?
      A. It challenges the physical ecnmy. B. It helps big cmpany sell all gds.
      C. It is very cnvenient fr the buyers. D. It helps the sellers develp fixed expressins.
      29. What des the underlined wrd “ff-putting” mean in paragraph 3?
      A. Unhappy.B. Awkward.
      C. Surprised.D. Frightened.
      30. Hw d custmers feel abut the seller’s smiling?
      A. They feel thankful.B. They feel delighted.
      C. They feel cheated. D. They feel s tired.
      31. Which f the fllwing culd be the best title fr the text?
      A. Live streamers Sell Prducts Successfully.B. Smiling Can Increase the Sales in Reality.
      C. Emtins and Faces: What’s the Difference. D. Expressins Affect Selling Prducts Online.
      D

35.What's the authr's attitude twards the tw parenting mdes mentined in the passage?

      One pssible versin:
      Dear Jack,
I’m writing t share ne f my wnderful experiences with yu.
Last Friday ur schl went n a day trip t a hill surrunded by trees in the suburb. All the way we admired the scenery. The air was fresh, and the rlling hill was amazing. Frm the travel, I find ut the real meaning f ec-travel: It nt nly helps us cme t lve nature, but aruses ur sense f respnsibility. That is, as we enjy the beauty f nature, we shuld maintain the harmny between humans and nature. All in all, ec-travel shuld be like this: take nthing away but yur gd memry; leave nthing behind but a clean envirnment.
I have cme t lve ec-travel and hpe I can enjy ec-travel tgether with yu.
      All the best,
      Li Hua
