根据划线词后句“A gd example is the husefly, fund almst everywhere n Earth.(家蝇就是一个很好的例子,地球上几乎到处都有家蝇。)” 故选A。
根据首段尾句“Just as wire fences prevent cattle frm leaving their grassland, bilgical barriers prevent the spread f many species.(就像铁丝栅栏阻止牛群离开草原一样,生物屏障也阻止了许多物种的传播)”可知,作者将生物屏障与铁栅栏做类比。
根据文章第二段“Mst places that are suitable fr the grwth f a newcmer, say a dandelin seedling (蒲公英幼苗), are already ccupied by ther types f plants that are well adapted t the area. Facing such fierce cmpetitin, the chances f survival fr the immigrant are slim.(大多数适合新植物生长的地方,比如蒲公英幼苗,已经被其他类型的植物占据了,这些植物很好地适应了该地区。

根据第一段“These days, it’s nt unusual t see adult taking an interest in tys, cmic bks and the activities that are traditinally assciated with children. This phenmenn has given rise t a new wrd: kidult.( 如今,成年人对玩具、漫画书和传统上与儿童有关的活动感兴趣并不罕见。 和下文“One is abut adults’ nstalgia (怀旧之情) fr the carefree days f childhd, and this is especially true with tday’s fast-paced, stressful lifestyles. Anther is abut a scietal change in recent decades where peple are starting families later.( 一个是关于成年人对无忧无虑的童年的怀念,尤其是在今天快节奏、紧张的生活方式下。 故选A。
根据前文“Anther is abut a scietal change in recent decades where peple are starting families later.( 另一个是关于近几十年来的社会变化,人们开始晚婚。)”和下文“Sme adults culd nly windw-shp fr their dream tys when they were kids, but nw they can affrd that radi cntrlled car r high-priced dll they have always wanted.(有些成年人小时候只能在橱窗里买他们梦寐以求的玩具,但现在他们可以买得起他们一直想要的遥控汽车或高价娃娃。)” 。故选D。
本句对前一句“Cmpanies are repackaging prducts frm past decades and als bringing ut new nes fr adults.(公司正在重新包装过去几十年的产品,并为成年人推出新的产品)”公司重新包装过去的玩具并同时开发给成年人的新玩具解释说明。
根据前文“Frm the standpint f kidults, thugh, this phenmenn is seen as nthing but harmless fun. Kidults insist that having yuthful interests keeps them yung, happy and creative.(然而,从kidults的角度来看,这种现象只不过是无害的娱乐。

故填is played。
故填where。
故填a。

The stage lights in the music hall darkened, as the next schl’s cncert band settled nstage. The First Chair, a yung vilinist, called upn each sectin t play, tuning them with precisin and grace. The mment the musical directr appeared, a wave f applause filled the air.
The annual High Schl Music Festival was the highlight f my year. As a music teacher, I never missed a sessin, always amazed by the extrardinary talents the musical directrs inspired in their students. But this year might be my last visit. With age catching up, my desire fr retirement was grwing strnger.
Hnestly, there was always a tuch f dissatisfactin and envy in my heart as I watched these schl bands, because I had never been able t develp a band t this level. I taught in a small primary schl. My students played beginner music, and they were happy when we managed t play frm the start all the way t the end f a piece, with all the instruments finishing tgether. The cmplexities f full tne, dynamic cntrl, and balance were beynd their abilities.
As the band pened with their first piece, the striking sund f vilins, accmpanied by the lively ntes f pians, set my heart punding. Wuldn’t it be great t be the musical directr fr ne f these massive high schl bands? I thught as the music transprted me. When the last ntes rang ut, there was a brief silence befre thunderus applause erupted. My aging eyes scanned (察看) the stage, seeking familiar faces amng the perfrmers. But my visin was n lnger sharp enugh t recgnize anyne.
During the tea break, I headed tward the entrance hall. “Miss Jnes!” a yung man’s vice cut thrugh the crwd. I recgnized the cncert unifrm he was wearing. It was the very vilinist I had been admiring. Puzzled, I searched his face fr familiar features. It turned ut t be Bradley, a frmer student f mine wh was difficult t frget. Schlwrk had been hard fr him, and he had struggled thrugh all his subjects. It was a pleasant surprise t meet him here. We sat dwn and had a chat.

I remembered the day when he asked t jin the schl band. He was s eager, but he had n prir musical experience. I was hesitant at first, but his enthusiasm cnvinced me t give him a chance. I started frm the very basics with him. He practiced hard, ften staying after schl t get extra help. It was a lng and difficult jurney, but he never gave up. And nw, seeing him as the First Chair in this high schl band, I felt an verwhelming sense f pride and accmplishment.
I was still smiling as I made my way back t the music hall. I realized that every student has the ptential t grw and shine, regardless f their starting pint. My small primary schl students might nt be as advanced as these high schlers yet, but they t culd achieve great things with time and dedicatin. I gladly decided that I wuld nt retire just yet. I wanted t cntinue teaching, t inspire my students just as I had inspired Bradley, and t see where their musical jurneys wuld take them.
