    Hw: This is a cnversatinal discurse related t students’ actual lives. It uses the questin wrds “what” “when” “where” and “hw” as well as the structure “be ging t d” t ask and answer questins abut future plans, reflecting the theme f man and self in this unit.
    Teaching bjectives
    By the end f the sessin, mst students will
    understand the listening material and grasp sme new wrds such as “pianist, vilinist, engineer, cmputer prgrammer, pilt”;
    learn and understand the structure “be ging t d” and talk abut their wn future plans by using it crrectly;
    establish lfty ideals and self-cnfidence, and wrk hard t make their future plans cme true;
    These bjectives will be achieved by:
    1. teaching new wrds by guiding students t identify ccupatins thrugh pictures;
    2. teaching students sentence structures “What d yu want t ” “I’m ging t be...” “Hw are yu ging t d that” “I’m ging t d ...” thrugh pair wrd and discussin.

    Students may feel it difficult t crrectly use “be ging t d” t describe their future plans.

    Teaching Objective 1: learning and understanding
    Activity 1: Lead-in
    1. Shw a picture f different kinds f jbs, asking students abut their parents’ jbs and lead in the ntin f future plans.
    2. Identify sme jbs by shwing crrespnding pictures and intrduce sme new wrds which can help clear listening impairment.
    3. Invite sme students t share abut their dream jbs.
    Activity 2: Listen and fill in the blanks, then match the items
    Tell students t read the wrds f jbs in the chart. Make sure they knw the meaning f the wrds and sentences. Play the recrding fr the students t listen and fill in the blanks. Check the answers with the students. Play the recrding again. Students listen and match the jbs with activities. Shw the answers n the big screen.
    Activity 3: Listen and tick the bxes.
    Ask students t make a predictin abut Cheng Han’s future plan accrding t the pictures, then play the recrding the cnfirm their predictins.
    Activity 4: Listen and cmplete the table.
    Ask students t listen carefully, catch sme key infrmatin abut “what” “hw” “where” “when” and cmplete the table.

    Invite sme students t act as attendants t sum up what they have learned tday, then the teacher will make a cnclusin.
