    It was nearly time fr lights ut (熄灯). Earth Hur 2024 was happening at the weekend. The annual (一年一度的) ne-hur event began in the UK at 8:30 p.m. n 23rd March, 2024.
    Earth Hur happens each year in rder t raise awareness f climate change and lss f nature.
    The event was funded in 2007 by the WWF (世界自然基金会). It began in Sydney, Australia. It was used as a symbl f an energy-saving event. Over tw millin peple and businesses turned ff their lights fr an hur. Since then, it has spread all ver the wrld and nw millins f peple in ver 190 cuntries jin in.
    If peple want t take part in it, the main thing they can d is t turn ff their lights fr an hur n Saturday night.
    Hwever, there are ther ways t jin in t. The WWF is encuraging peple t "Give an Hur fr Earth" by ding smething psitive fr the planet. Their ideas include spending an hur in nature and making an utside space mre friendly t nature.
    On their website, the WWF says, “It is mre than just an hur in the dark. It is als a time fr thinking carefully abut ur everlasting effect n the planet and hw we can make a change, tgether.”
