Hair health is a tpic f great cncern, just as a beauty master ntes in a bk, “Yur hair’s health is a reflectin f yur bdy’s health.” There is gd news that a discvery in hair grwth research culd pave the way fr future medicatins. Researchers frm the University f Califrnia have identified a mlecule (分子) that is linked t faster hair grwth. The mlecule, which is fund in higher levels in areas with thick hair, is shwn t prmte hair grwth when it enters the skin.

Thus, the mlecule that is increased in such human skin mles might hld an answer fr hair stem cell (干细胞) stimulatin,” he explained.
The reasns behind hair lss are nt easy t understand. Hair lss is underlined by a decrease in imprtant signaling prteins (蛋白质) inside f hair that nrmally stimulate hair stem cells. Fr cmmn frms f hair lss, hair stem cells remain resting fr a very lng time, despite being cmplete and undamaged. One efficient strategy fr fighting hair lss wuld be t inject signaling prteins int the skin cvering the head t activate resting hair stem cells, a cmmn way used in the medical field. Previus hair studies have recgnized that such a way can prve t be very efficient, but which signaling prteins are viewed as gd chices fr hair stem cell stimulatin in humans remains largely unknwn,
The discvery f the mlecule as a hair grwth stimulant is the result f a decade f research. This research pints t a pssible slutin fr hair lss that physicians and patients have been searching fr. While his team is excited and hpeful abut the pssibility f finding a treatment that will wrk fr bth men and wmen, Plikus stresses that additinal studies are required t better understand these findings in humans.
    12. Hw des the authr intrduce the tpic?
    A. By asking.B. By quting.C. By cmparing.D. By defining.
    13. Which f the fllwing can prmte hair grwth?
    A. The rising mlecules.B. The beautified head skin.
    C. The enlarged mles.D. The decreasing hair stem cells.
    14. What rle d the signaling prteins play in hair stem cell stimulatin?
    A. A patient.B. A viewer.C. A helper.D. A lser.
    15. Hw des Plikus’s team feel abut the research’s finding?
    A. It is dubtful.B. It is cnfusing.C. It is simple. D. It is prmising.
